Betting Odds and Prediction for Whether New York Makes the 2020 NFL Playoffs

New York Giants Playoffs Odds and Prediction 2020

The New York Giants aren’t a great bet to win Super Bowl 55. Heck, they’re not even a good option when it comes to predicting who will win the NFC East in 2020.

Whether you’re a fan of the Giants or looking for betting value, you probably have three logical options: bet on the Giants’ 2020 win total, gauge if the Giants will make the playoffs in 2020, or simply stay away.

The smart money is no money, most likely. But where’s the fun in that?

That could lead you to door number two or three, as the Giants could conceivably win more games than expected, and they certainly could push for the playoffs in a year where an extra team is being added to postseason play.

None of that is a given, though. In fact, most of it appears to be a given that it won’t happen. Every single NFL wager is worth inspecting before betting on or punting to the skies, however.

To see if the Giants can make the playoffs (and if it’s worth betting on), read on.

Giants’ Playoff Odds

New York’s odds of making the 2020 NFL playoffs appear to be quite long. The top NFL sportsbooks don’t have them priced like a team about to crack the postseason tourney, while BetOnline has their odds to miss at -450.

Usually, that’s a pretty good indicator that the G-Men would be in trouble.

New York does have some talent on both sides of the ball, and they appear to have come out of the 2020 NFL Draft with some nice pieces. But this team went 4-12 last year and didn’t appear to make the strides necessary to believe they’ll be making a huge leap.

That’s what the pricing says, at least. Let’s take a closer look at their chances and come away with a prediction for the Giants in 2020.

Giants Playoff Prediction and Pick

Okay, I lied. It’s a firm “no” for me when it comes to predicting whether or not the Giants can make the playoffs this year.

Don’t get me wrong, I actually like the direction the Giants are headed in. The problem is they’ll at best be third in the NFC East, and that isn’t going to be good enough to make it to the playoffs this year.

Philadelphia and Dallas are still way ahead of the Giants. They do have the core in place to put up points, though. Saquon Barkley could have a monster year, while Daniel Jones has the weapons to do some serious damage in his second NFL season.

However, New York’s o-line raised more questions than answers in 2019, while the defense is still not a strength. Incoming head coach Joe Judge could play a hand in changing that, but it isn’t likely to be enough for a playoff run.

New York could win a few more games than expected. Heck, they might even be fun to watch. But they’re not making the playoffs — not with their question marks and how loaded the NFC continues to be.
