| October 7, 2021 9:38 am PDT

Country music is front, and center come November. The 2021 CMA Awards hit the stage on November 10th, with the biggest names in the industry set to be honored.

While it’s a huge night for country music, most entertainment betting sites will also allow you to bet on who will win at the 2021 CMA Awards.

Of course, not everyone knows what to expect, or even where to bet. I’ve got you covered across the board in this 2021 Country Music Association Awards betting guide.

Where to Bet on the 2021 CMA Awards

Before you dive into the CMA Awards details for 2021, you should know where you can actually bet on this year’s big event.

There are several fantastic entertainment betting sites that offer CMA Awards prop bets, and the list above offers arguably the top options you can find online.

Everyone does have their own criteria they box-check when trying to find the best sites for betting on the Country Music Association Awards (or any event).

For me, it’s the following.

  • Trustworthy
  • Versatile
  • Excellent customer service
  • Competitive odds
  • Fast
  • Easy to use

The CMA Awards sites listed above check most of these boxes. Some may excel in specific areas more than others, but the point is you’re getting reliable, versatile sites that offer a wide array of wagers with competitive pricing.

These sites are also all fast and easy to use.

It’s up to you as far as where to bet on the 2021 CMA Awards, though. For more details on the event, continue reading my 2021 Country Music Association Awards betting guide.

Key Details for the 2021 CMA Awards

Hopefully, you find some good CMA Awards betting sites you can turn to once props start coming out. The next question is what you should be expecting when the show starts on November 10th.

Let’s go over some key CMA Awards details, starting with who is hosting this year.

When are the 2021 CMA Awards?

There isn’t an official venue or location yet, so if you asked me where the 2021 CMA Awards are being held, I couldn’t tell you.

It’s a country music awards show, though, so the odds are pretty good they’ll keep it based somewhere in Nashville, Tennessee.

As far as the when, you can catch the 55th Annual CMA Awards on ABC at 8/7 central.

Who is Hosting the 2021 CMA Awards?

Reba McEntire

The 2021 CMA Awards currently don’t have an official host. I can guess who it probably will be, of course.

Country music legend Reba McEntire co-hosted with Darius Rucker last year and was part of a trio of women the year before, as well.

The Country Music Association Awards are known for trying to maintain consistency. Vince Gill hosted the ceremony for over a decade, while Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood tag-teamed the event for 10 years, too.

Nothing is official just yet, but I wouldn’t be shocked to see the affable Reba take the stage again, but probably with a little help.

Who is Performing at the CMA Awards in 2021?

This is another unknown. Let’s do a recount here; this massive country music event is just over a month away, and it’s without an official venue, host, or tentative performers.

I am sure the CMA Awards will slowly release a slew of superstar artists that will hit the stage, and it’ll be a fun night filled with great country music.

For now, though, we’re all left in suspense.

Who Has the Most 2021 CMA Nominations?

It’s unclear who the host of the 2021 CMA Awards will be, but we do know who has been nominated. The 2021 CMA Awards nominations were announced in September, and they stirred up some controversy.

Obviously, there were some big stars that rightfully earned nods for key categories, but there were also some glaring snubs.

Even so, there are some true heavy hitters up for some serious hardware in 2021. Take a quick look at which country music performers have the most CMA Awards nominations this year.

Country Artist 2021 CMA Awards Nominations
Eric Church 5
Chris Stapleton 5
Gabby Barrett 4
Miranda Lambert 3
Maren Morris 3

There are a handful of other country music stars that have earned 2021 CMA Awards nominations, but if you’re wondering who is working with the most volume, check the table above.

That may not necessarily tell you who will win each CMA Awards category, but it’s a start.

2021 CMA Awards Nominations

Speaking of nominations, I’d say this deserves its own entire section in a CMA Awards betting guide, wouldn’t you?

It’s important to point out which country stars racked up the most nods, but who was nominated for what?

Let’s take a closer look at the 2021 Country Music Association Awards nominations for the major categories.

Entertainer of the Year

  • Eric Church
  • Luke Combs
  • Miranda Lambert
  • Chris Stapleton
  • Carrie Underwood

Eric Church won in this category last year and he pulls into the 2021 CMA Awards with a leading five nominations.

He’s a fine bet to repeat, but it’s worth noting he only won last year after Garth Brooks withdrew his name from consideration.

Luke Combs had an amazing 2020, winning Male Vocalist of the Year, as well as Album of the Year, so he’s also on the table for bettors.

Lambert and Underwood give fans a shot at the first female Entertainer of the Year in nearly a full decade, while Chris Stapleton matches Church’s nominations and could be an option, as well.

Male Vocalist of the Year

  • Dierks Bentley
  • Eric Church
  • Luke Combs
  • Thomas Rhett
  • Chris Stapleton

Dierks Bentley will hope he can finally take-home Male Vocalist of the Year honors, but he’s yet to win after five nominations in his illustrious career.

Church could be in play after winning Entertainer of the Year, but it could be tough to take out Combs, who has won in consecutive years.

Chris Stapleton knows a thing or two about going on a roll, of course. He preceded Combs as the winner of this category the three prior years in a row.

Female Vocalist of the Year

  • Gabby Barrett
  • Miranda Lambert
  • Ashley McBryde
  • Maren Morris
  • Carly Pearce

Maren Morris was the top female artist last year, winning this very award, and also seeing “The Bones” take home Song of the Year.

She won’t repeat in that category, but she’s a real threat to make it back-to-back wins in this one. Veteran Miranda Lambert is arguably her stiffest competition, having won this award six times before.

There’s always a chance a newcomer could break through, though. Ashley McBryde won New Artist of the Year here in 2019, and she’s racked up three other big wins since bursting onto the scene with Girl Going Nowhere.

McBryde is also up for Song of the Year for “One Night Standards,” which she used to put on a show at least year’s event.

The 31-year-old Carly Pearce also deserves a look. She was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry this year, and also took home two awards at the ACMs. She picked up a win at the CMA Awards in 2020, too, so she could have momentum on her side.

New Artist of the Year

  • Jimmie Allen
  • Ingrid Andress
  • Gabby Barrett
  • Mickey Guyton
  • HARDY

Morgan Wallen took home this award in 2020 and won’t be up for it again for obvious reasons. This year’s batch of newbies is an eclectic one, but it’s undeniably led by Gabby Barrett.

Barrett is up for Single and Song of the Year thanks to “The Good Ones.”

Looking at her talent and the impact of this song alone, she feels like a good bet to take home this award at the 2021 CMA Awards.

Album of the Year

  • 29 – Carly Pearce
  • Dangerous: The Double Album – Morgan Wallen
  • Heart – Eric Church
  • Skeletons – Brothers Osbourne
  • Starting Over – Chris Stapleton

A new artist will break through and win Album of the Year. Luke Combs won last year, but he isn’t in the running this time around.

Eric Church and Chris Stapleton lead the way with five nominations, and they’re easily the two biggest artists in this category.

It’s awfully tough to get away from them when trying to predict this award.

Song of the Year

  • “Forever After All” – Luke Combs
  • “The Good Ones” – Gabby Barrett
  • “Hell of a View” – Eric Church
  • “One Night Standards” – Ashley McBryde
  • “Starting Over” – Chris Stapleton

There are a few other CMA Awards, but the last big one is Song of the Year. Maren Morris got the nod for that last year, and she isn’t in line to win again.

Luke Combs was a big winner last year and could have a shot, while both Eric Church and Chris Stapleton will be considered viable threats.

This is not going to be an easy award to win, of course. Both Barrett and McBryde have stellar songs that have a shot, and a fresh face winning wouldn’t be so bad with two of the other candidates previously winning this award before.

Looking Back at Past CMA Awards

Sometimes before you look forward, it’s helpful to look to the past.

I wouldn’t say bettors should just target singers who have won in previous years – or even most recently – but ignoring what’s already happened could be a mistake, just as well.

Who Won Last Year?

It’s not surprising that Eric Church has five nominations and is a threat to win in 2021, as he’s coming off a big win in 2020.

Here’s a quick recap of all the big winners from last year’s CMA Awards.

  • Entertainer of the Year – Eric Church
  • Male Vocalist of the Year – Luke Combs
  • Female Vocalist of the Year – Maren Morris
  • Song of the Year – “The Bones” by Maren Morris
  • Album of the Year – What You See Is What You Get

Church has some momentum, as he won Entertainer of the Year in 2020 – his first in that category – so there could be merit in a repeat after another big run this past year.

Luke Combs is in the mix for Male Vocalist of the Year, and if he wins again in 2021, it’d be his third trophy in a row. He also won Album of the Year, but he isn’t nominated for that high honor this year.

Maren Morris had a fantastic year in 2020, as she won Female Vocalist of the Year, and had the top song. She could repeat as Female Vocalist of the Year, but isn’t in play for any other major awards.

Who Has Dominated at the CMA Awards?

George Strait

It’s good to look at the winners from the year prior. History suggests country singers can get on a bit of a heater, as several performers have consecutive wins in some big categories.

But who has dominated the most at this event? One would think of current superstars like Blake Shelton or Luke Bryan, or they’d turn to icons like Garth Brooks.

Good guesses – and Brooks is at least in contention – but none of them have the honor of being at the top for CMA Awards wins or nominations.

Here’s a quick look at who has the most wins at the Country Music Association Awards, as well as the most career nominations.

Most CMA Awards Wins Most CMA Awards Nominations
Brooks & Dunn (18) George Strait (83)
Vince Gill (18) Alan Jackson (81)
George Strait (17) Miranda Lambert (58)
Alan Jackson (16) Brad Paisley (58)

Vince Gill and Brooks & Dunn are tied for the most wins at the CMA Awards in history. George Strait is one behind them in second place all by himself, though, and nobody has more nominations than he does.

Of course, none of these artists are going to impact how you bet on the 2021 Country Music Association Awards.

In fact, the only person you really need to pay attention to here is Lambert.

The country music phenom last won Female Vocalist of the Year in 2017, but she’d gone on a six-year run in the category prior to that.

Going into the CMA Awards in 2021, she has three more chances at winning.

Which Artist is Due to Win?

This is a fun narrative I like to touch on no matter the event. However, when it comes to the CMA Awards, it’s potentially more prevalent due to the nature of certain awards.

The elephant in the room? A woman hasn’t won Entertainer of the Year since Taylor Swift in 2011. She also won in 2009, while the Dixie Chicks (2000) and Shanian Twain (2019) also won.

Dierks Bentley

That’s cool, but those four female wins are the only non-male victories in this major category since 1986.

Women have endured a seven-year drought in this category, and it’s high-time it ends again. Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert are the only females in the mix for 2021 Entertainer of the Year, however.

One other artist wielding the “due” narrative going into the 2021 CMA Awards is Dierks Bentley. The 45-year-old superstar has been around for some time now, and he’s been nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year five times before.

Could this finally be the year the CMA Awards throw him a bone? It’d honestly be nice to see both a female entertainer take down the top prize and Bentley get a nice pat on the back.

The real question, of course, is if bettors allow these narratives to impact their 2021 CMA Awards betting.
