Here’s where you’ll find the best Canelo vs. Saunders prop bets.

Stay with me as I break down the very best of the Canelo vs. Saunders props for Saturday’s fight, and pinpoint the top wagers to place on the Cinco de Mayo Weekend classic for one and all.

Let’s get the ball rolling on the top Canelo vs. Saunders props with betting on the method of victory.

Canelo vs. Saunders Method of Victory Props

Canelo KO/TKO/DQ+105
Canelo by Decision/Technical Decision+125
Saunders by KO/TKO/DQ+2000
Canelo by Decision/Technical Decision+500
Draw/Technical Draw+2200

With Canelo’s odds to beat Saunders +700 on the moneyline, smart bettors will be turning to other markets.

One of the first stops on your search for the best Canelo-Saunders prop bets should be the method of victory market. You can find a nice range of potential wagers here that offer better value, if you are gambling on Canelo to win the fight.

But to take advantage of the markets above, you must make an important decision.

First, you are going to need to wager on how Canelo beats Saunders, or vice versa, and hope that result comes through for you on the night.

Does the fighter you are betting on score a knockout, or will he scrape to a decision on the cards? What’s it gonna be?

The result you settle on could be a profitable one. But anyone betting on the top proposition bets for Canelo vs. Saunders will need to get it right to make money on the fight.

Here’s what I’m thinking. Although a devastating puncher, Canelo does not have a great record of stoppages against opponents that are on his level, or near to it.

For example, he went the distance with Floyd Mayweather, Gennadiy Golovkin (twice), Daniel Jacobs, Miguel Cotto, Erislandy Lara. Even with Callum Smith and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

A slick and tough Saunders should be able to make the final bell.

  • Pick: Canelo by Decision/Technical Decision (+125)

Round betting will be another popular market for anyone betting on Canelo vs. Saunders props.

As one of the most popular prop markets in boxing, it’s always expected to see a lot of action on the big fights. But with the Brit’s lack of punching power evident in just 14 KOs from 30 fights, the bookies make Saunders’ odds to KO Canelo +10000 across the board.

Canelo has lost just one fight to Floyd Mayweather and that was on the cards. By the process of elimination, choosing a round is only viable for those who fancy Canelo to win by stoppage.

It is unrealistic to gamble on Saunders winning by KO and I wouldn’t recommend wasting your money.

Will Canelo knock out Saunders in Round 11 as he did with a tired and depleted Sergey Kovalev in 2019? Or will he score a super stoppage in Round 3, as he did against James Kirkland?

I don’t think he’s winning by stoppage, so am sticking with my initial pick for Canelo vs. Saunders. That means a win on the cards for the flame-haired pugilist.

  • Pick: Canelo on Points (+125)

Round Group Props

Rounds Canelo Saunders
1 to 3 +1200 +5000
4 to 6 +550 +5000
7 to 9 +400 +5000
10 to 12 +500 +5000
Draw +2200 +2200

Although I’m backing Alvarez to win on points, I thought you might want to check out round group prop bets for Canelo vs. Saunders.

Once again, Saunders to win inside the distance is deemed a far fetch, and the odds back this up. If you are looking to wager on Saunders beating Canelo in any of the four round groups above, you can get +5000.

If you’re leaning towards Canelo beating Saunders by stoppage, take your pick.

Canelo vs. Saunders Over/Under Bets

8.5 Rounds -275 +187
9.5 Rounds -200 +140
10.5 Rounds -175 +125

The Over/Under prop bets for Canelo vs. Saunders will be another popular market with bettors.

I’m expecting that there will be a sizeable number of gamblers backing Canelo to win by KO/TKO, and many of them will be looking at the odds above.

But with Saunders unbeaten in his career thus far, it is a little tougher to pinpoint when the Brit will fall.

Of course, you already know my take on how Canelo beats Saunders. As I’m picking him to beat Saunders on the cards, the best Canelo-Saunders prop bet in this market is for the fight to end over 10.5 rounds at odds of -175.

  • Pick: Over 10.5 Rounds (-175)

Knock Down Props for Canelo vs. Saunders

Props Canelo Saunders
To Be Knocked Down +400 -175
Not to Be Knocked Down -700 +125
To Be Knocked Down and Win +1100 +550 +1100
Either Fighter to Be Knocked Down -200 -200
Both Fighters to Be Knocked Down +700 +700
No Knockdowns +140 +140

I don’t think there will be many, if any, knockdowns in this fight.

Canelo is clearly the more powerful fighter of the pair. Scoring an impressive 37 stoppages from 55 wins but as mentioned earlier, Canelo doesn’t have a great stoppage ratio against high-level opponents.

Just because he has not stopped elite opposition does not mean he hasn’t knocked them down, right?  Well, you’d be surprised.

He didn’t knock Golovkin down in 24 rounds, but that’s hardly something to criticize him for. He failed to drop Jacobs though. Add Callum Smith to that list as well as Miguel Cotto and Erislandy Lara.

Saunders is not a fighter that tends to leave his opponents with much time to strike, while the Mexican has never been dropped. I would say, on the balance of things, that no knockdowns is the way to go if you’re betting on Canelo vs. Saunders props markets.

  • Pick: No Knockdowns (+140)
