Best Games to Bet on for Week 3 in College Football (2021)

Week 2 featured a few improved programs that flexed their muscles and showed America that they are for real. Arkansas knocked off Texas in an upset per the rankings and experts in the desert.
Iowa continues to pass the eye test as they were dominant over Iowa State yet again. The upset of the day was Oregon walking into the Horseshoe and knocking off Ohio State. We are only two weeks into the season, and so much has already happened.
I cannot wait until October is here. We will soon get even closer to the College Football Playoff rankings. Exciting college football games make for even more enjoyable wagers.
Here are the top games to bet on at the best college football betting sites for Week 3.
No. 22 Auburn at No. 10 Penn State
The SEC against the Big Ten will be fun. Penn State will be one of the best atmospheres we will watch all season. The Big Ten has a few stadiums that are bucket list material.
Auburn’s Bo Nix has struggled in road environments before, and this could be mission impossible to come out with a victory.
Bryan Harsin had success with Boise State before joining Auburn, but thus far, the Nittany Lions are on a mission to win the Big Ten. Auburn brings a physical rushing attack that will bring a challenge to Penn State’s stout-run defense.
Auburn running back Tank Bigsby is one of the more complete ones in the country. Going up against a stingy Big Ten defense will be a treat.
No. 15 Virginia Tech at West Virginia
The atmosphere of this game is going to be off the charts. The number of fans West Virginia had in their season opener on the road at Maryland was insane.
They came up short and lost, but the fans were there in full force. For every play they made, the road fans hung in there with the home crowd. Only on rare occasions do we witness that.
The Hokies have traveled well for a program, but the hard-hitting and defensive ability in this matchup should be highly entertaining. Virginia Tech is an underdog on the road against an unranked squad, which is rare.
Upsets are well-known in college football, but this should be one of the underrated matchups of the weekend.
Seth Doege is a capable quarterback due to a few stars around him. Leddie Brown is one of the more complete backs in the country and can carry the West Virginia offense to greatness.
He’s also off to a heck of a start.

Virginia Tech has wideout Tre Turner, who has exposed most defensive backs thus far. These two squads have had some closely contested matchups over the years, and this one should be no different.
No. 8 Cincinnati at Indiana
Bloomington is going to be wild for this non-conference tilt that featured plenty of upsets last season. The Bearcats have Notre Dame coming up in a few weeks and could be looking ahead in this non-conference showdown.
Indiana already has a loss on the schedule, and they would like to accomplish a few firsts for the program. Indiana has not won nine games in a season since 1967!
The Hoosiers have playmakers Ty Fryfogle and D.J. Matthews at wide receiver. Both have the speed to burn, but tight end Peyton Hendershot could be the difference between winning and losing. He can control the middle of the field against a loaded Bearcat secondary.
Coby Bryant and Ahmad Gardner are sensational cover corners that could make life challenging for quarterback Michael Pennix Jr. It was last season at home where he stretched for the goal-line to knock off Penn State. The Hoosiers would love to upset another top 10 squad in Cincinnati.
They need to run the table and look impressive in the process. If they come out and get blown away, the Bearcats would be in jeopardy of representing the Group of Five in any NY6 matchup.
Purdue at No. 12 Notre Dame
Purdue has been an impressive 2-0 squad thus far, and they can get the points flowing in this matchup.
Notre Dame star signal-caller Jack Coan was a former Wisconsin quarterback that knocked off the Boilermakers twice already.
The 2018 meeting went to triple overtime, but the Badgers prevailed. Purdue needs this road victory to keep the pressure off of Jeff Brohm and to avoid another losing season in West Lafayette.
Purdue has had a losing season in eight of the past nine seasons. They are hoping to get back to national relevance. This road victory over a Top 15 Irish team could propel Purdue to have their best season since 2003.
Jack Plummer is a capable quarterback that can dissect the ND secondary thanks to future NFL wide receiver David Bell.
The passing attack for the Boilermakers will be productive, and they have enough pieces on both sides of the ball to pull the upset off. Notre Dame continues to find new ways to win in the closing moments, so this is one game that will have you on the edge of your seat.
No. 1 Alabama at No. 11 Florida
Two of the best juggernauts in all of college football will be competing on Saturday.
The SEC West versus the East is often pivotal in the race to appear in Atlanta for the SEC Championship. Florida has lost seven straight against Alabama, all thanks to Nick Saban.
The Crimson Tide has been able to suffocate the offense of the Gators in most of their matchups.
Just look at how the last seven meetings have gone.
- 2020: Alabama 52, Florida 46
- 2016: Alabama 54, Florida 16
- 2015: Alabama 29, Florida 15
- 2014: Alabama 42, Florida 21
- 2011: Alabama 38, Florida 10
- 2010: Alabama 31, Florida 6
- 2009: Alabama 32, Florida 13
The SEC title game last December was anything but a defensive battle. The Gators had a bevy of offensive weapons, and they had Alabama on the ropes in the second half.
Replacing Kyle Trask, Kyle Pitts, and Kadarius Toney will be a challenge all year for Florida.
The Gators finally have a game against great competition where we will find out how well-stocked this program is. Florida has not struggled much thus far against Florida Atlantic and South Florida.
The quarterback play of Florida makes this one a must-watch game that you will want to wager on. The Gators are likely to use both Emory Jones and Anthony Richardson.
Richardson has been a better passer, and the offense has gelled a bit better when he is under center. Jones was picked by most to be the heir-apparent to Trask, but the offense has been inconsistent with him under center.
Alabama has been the biggest nightmare to prepare for in all of college sports.
Nick Saban certainly will have his say in this one, and the defensive game plan will be to load the box up and make the Florida passing game beat them.
Bryce Young and the Tide have been insane on offense thus far, so something has to give. Heading to the Swamp for the first road environment for Young will be quite the memory. The Swamp will be rocking, making this one of the better games to bet on for Week 3.
Betting on College Football in Week 3
Week 2 was enjoyable due to a few upsets and crowds become the difference-makers in the second half of close contests. We should see the electric atmosphere back in force.
The Swamp and Beaver Stadium will be rocking this weekend in hopes of pulling off much-needed Top 25 victories.
Enjoy the games and best of luck on your wagering for Week 3.
