Top Boxing Matches to Bet on in March of 2021

If you’re looking to make money betting on boxing matches in March 2021, you have options.

There are some awesome fights to bet on in the first month of spring. The biggest of them all being the highly-anticipated rematch between Alexander Povetkin and Dillian Whyte.

There are a few big title fights on the horizon, too. And I mean real titles, not the “interim” strap up for grabs in Povetkin vs. Whyte 2.

I’m going to take you through the top fights to bet on in March 2021 in chronological order. So let’s start with the first bout of the new month.

Claressa Shields vs. Marie-Eve Dicaire

  • When: March 5, 2021
  • Where: Dort Financial Center, Flint, Michigan, U.S.
  • For: IBF, WBC, WBO, WBA (Super), The Ring Female Light Middleweight Titles

The first boxing match to bet on in March 2021 should be an awesome one.

Two-time US Olympic gold medalist Claressa Shields (10-0) will put it all on the line against tough Canadian southpaw Marie-Eve Dicaire (17-0) in Shields’ hometown of Flint, Michigan.

Neither lady has lost a fight in their respective professional career. One of those has to go, and someone will likely be leaving the ring with their first loss. The other will be crowned the undisputed champion of the women’s light middleweight division.

Shields is the consensus favorite heading into this fight. The advantage of fighting in her hometown will certainly contribute to that, especially as a small number of tickets are on sale for Shields vs. Dicaire.

This fight is definitely one of the top fights to bet on in March. If you’re looking to get your wagers down, you will find the betting odds for Shields vs. Dicaire, and the rest of the fights in the month, on our recommended sites for betting on boxing.

Alexander Povetkin vs. Dillian Whyte 2

  • When: March 6, 2021
  • Where: The SSE Arena, London, England
  • For: WBC Interim Heavyweight Title

The biggest fight to bet on in March 2021 is undoubtedly the Alexander Povetkin vs. Dillian Whyte rematch.

Povetkin (36-2-1), who knocked Whyte (27-2) out in August 2020, will once again be the betting underdog. But can he upset the odds once again and lay a claim to the next shot at Tyson Fury’s title? That is if Fury vs. Anthony Joshua goes the way of The Gypsy King.

Those gambling on boxing in March will surely be asking themselves that very same question. If the Russian could do it the first time around, then he’s not one to sleep on. Then again, Whyte was controlling the fight before he was clipped, so this is not something to overlook either.

I’ll be making my prediction and pick for Povetkin vs. Whyte 2 a little closer to the fight. Make sure to check out our boxing betting picks section for that, in addition to Povetkin vs. Whyte rematch odds and best bets.

Juan Francisco Estrada vs. Chocolatito Gonzalez

  • When: March 13
  • Where: American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas, U.S.
  • For: WBC, WBA (Super), The Ring Super Flyweight titles

Now, this is a fight.

Two of the very best fighters on the planet will lock horns in a bid to take the straps above.

Estrada vs. Chocolatito is one of the very best bouts this year. So, you do not want to miss it if you’re betting on boxing in March.

Take a look through the odds for boxing matches in March, and you’ll find that all top boxing sportsbooks favor Estrada (40-3). He currently holds the WBC and The Ring titles and is believed to be the best of the three big names at 115-pounds.

The other name in the division is, of course, the awesome Srisaket Sor Rungvisai. The Thai is the only fighter to have ever beaten Gonzalez (50-2) but also has a win and a loss to Estrada.

Chocolatito and Estrada have never fought before. But it should be an awesome bout to watch, but more importantly, one of the top boxing matches to bet on this March.

Artur Beterbiev vs. Adam Deines

  • When: March 20
  • Where: Moscow, Russia
  • For: WBC and IBF Light Heavyweight Titles

Artur Beterbiev (15-0) is one of the best boxers in the world.

I have been following the light heavyweight wrecking ball for almost ten years now, and I can tell you that there is no way that Adam Deines (19-1-1) beats him.

Now, calling this one of the best fights you need to bet on in March is different than referring to it as one of March’s best fights. Because it’s not.

Beterbiev’s Record From His Last Five Fights
Record Opponent Result Round
15–0 Oleksandr Gvozdyk TKO 10
14–0 Radivoje Kalajdzic KO 5
13–0 Callum Johnson KO 4
12–0 Enrico Kölling KO 12
11–0 Isidro Ranoni Prieto TKO 1

In fact, if it wasn’t for the fact that you can wager on this fight in March, I wouldn’t be excited for it at all.

The Russian is going to give Deines the beating of his life and surely knows this is a mismatch. But if there is a good opportunity to make money betting on boxing this March, the fight deserves to be on the list.

So, what round will Beterbiev beat Deines in?

Moving on…

Lawrence Okolie vs. Krzysztof Glowacki

  • When: March 20
  • Where: England
  • For: WBO Cruiserweight Title

On March 20, unbeaten British prospect Lawrence Okolie faces off with tough Pole Krzysztof Glowacki.

What a step up this will be for The Sauce, as he attempts to win his first world title. The fight will happen in England, but a venue is still yet to be confirmed at the time of writing.

Okolie (15-0) won the vacant WBO International cruiserweight title in London back in December and will be hoping to get the real title around his waist on March 20.

But not if Glowacki (31-2) has any say in the matter.

This was, after all, the same belt that he lost to Mairis Briedis in the World Boxing Super Series: cruiserweight semi-final in June 2019. That was his last time inside the ropes, so ring rust could play a part in this fight.

Of all the boxing fights to gamble on in March, I think this could be the most interesting.
