Belshina Bobruisk vs. Dynamo Brest Betting Preview – Belarusian Premier League, May 3

No one thought at the start of the season that this would be a game between two struggling sides, but Dynamo Brest is yet to replicate its title-winning form and is spending more time than expected near the foot of the table at the moment.

Although Belshina might have expected the top tier to be tough, the Bobruisk club is struggling in the opening rounds and desperately needs to pick up some points from somewhere quickly. My Belshina Bobruisk vs. Dynamo prediction lays out what I expect from this match.

Dynamo Brest is only two places above Belshina at the moment, but BetOnline obviously sees that as just a minor blip for the reigning champions. There are long odds for the home win here, but considering that Belshina is yet to beat anyone in the Premier League this season, I would say that the pricing is just about right.

Still no wins for last season’s First League champions, although the ultimately unsuccessful comeback against Slutsk last weekend might be seen as a positive sign in the circumstances. So it is just the two draws against Smolevichi and Neman Grodno to show for its efforts so far. That is nowhere near good enough for Eduard Gradoboyev and his team, and it is already looking as though a swift return to the second tier is on the cards for the club from the east of the country.

The good news for Dynamo Brest is that it progressed to the final of the Belarusian Cup in midweek. The bad news is that it almost threw away a 2-0 lead from the first leg and ended up winning on away goals while conceding four to a spirited Shakhtyor Soligorsk side. That’s three defeats in a row in all competitions for the title holders now.

Performances in the league have been very patchy to say the least for Dynamo, and this game with Belshina would seem to be the perfect opportunity for Sergey Kovalchuk’s men to get its campaign to retain its crown back on track.

Dynamo faced Shakhtyor in its last league game as well and enjoyed the majority of the play without being able to put any of their many chances away. More goals are definitely needed if Dynamo is to challenge this year, so now would be the perfect chance to start.

Dynamo has been far too wasteful in front of goal this season and needs to work on that immediately if it is not to be left behind. Other top clubs, such as BATE, have improved since the strange results of the first few games, but Dynamo is still far too inconsistent to be considered a title challenger in my view.

That being said, even though the champions are away from home here, there should not be a problem picking up a much-needed victory.
