BATE Borisov vs. Neman Grodno Betting Preview – Belarusian Premier League, May 3

BATE looks to continue its ominous climb up the table this weekend with a home fixture against one of the natural mid-table sides in the Belarusian Premier League. Neman Grodno will be hoping that the home side reverts to its form of the opening few games.
But with its cup semifinal tie with Slavia Mozyr successfully dealt with in the week, BATE will more likely be on the hunt for more points to reclaim the league title.
You can find my BATE Borisov vs. Neman Grodno prediction and betting pick below.
BATE Borisov vs. Neman Grodno Odds
This looks like being the most one-sided game of the weekend in Belarus, and BetOnline has certainly priced it as such, making Neman huge underdogs here. But there is very little that I can see wrong with the odds for either side to win. A Neman victory would be a big shock, and I’m not sure a draw is even a possibility on Sunday.
Match Preview
Three defeats in the first four games in all competitions was not the way that anyone — especially the BATE players and officials — expected the start of the season to go for the most successful club in the country’s history. But there has been a gradual improvement over the last few weeks, including that semifinal victory on Wednesday.
More impressive is the complete lack of goals conceded in BATE’s last four league games. It is that kind of defensive superiority that has allowed the attacking players in the team to do their bit and pick up the points. Gorodeya was blown away last weekend, and it could be a repeat performance against Neman this Sunday.
Not much has been expected from Neman recently, and the club has not finished higher than sixth in the last six years. A mid-table finish would probably be perfectly acceptable this season for manager Igor Kovalevich, and that is how it is looking at the moment.
The 3-0 win against Energetik-BGU last weekend was something of a surprise, therefore, given that the Students had looked good in the opening weeks of this campaign. That victory might be used as inspiration against BATE, but it would be more likely for Neman to get this game out of the way and concentrate on picking up more points against some of the smaller clubs in the division.

BATE Borisov to Win-313
The odds might not be anything to get excited about, but I can’t see anything but a home win here. BATE has looked far too good in its last few games for me to believe that a Neman side that seems content with its position in the league will push harder and surprise the Belarus big boys.
