Astralis vs. Vitality Odds, Prediction, and Pick for April 28th – ESL One: Road to Rio

The European division of the ESL One qualifiers has already produced some shocking results and many high-quality matchups. Tuesday’s schedule sees another action-packed program but all eyes will be on the crunch tie between Astralis and Vitality.
These teams have crossed paths many times already this season and the Danes have the edge but ZywOo and his teammates look to be on the rise.
My Astralis vs. Vitality betting preview for today explores the main betting options we can take advantage of and provides a look at the recent form of both organizations.
Make sure you stick around as I have also prepared a free betting pick for you in the end.
Astralis vs. Vitality Odds
BetOnline’s sportsbook has a bunch of attractive markets for this one and here are a couple of the more popular ones:
Match Winner
Map Advantage
Total Maps Played
The third seed in the CS:GO world rankings is given a huge advantage and it almost seems that Vitality is doomed in this matchup.
I for one am not certain about that so let’s move on to my analysis and then I share my thoughts on where the betting value lies here.
Team Astralis Current Form
Despite losing on their map pick in the opening fixture against Complexity Gaming, gla1ve and his team managed to wrap up the tie with a much better performance in the next two rounds.
It was a bit of a shaky start but it was still a victory, so the Danes headed into the matchup with Fnatic full of confidence.
However, their display on Train was disastrous as the Swedes quickly gunned them down to claim a 16:9 win in the first round.
Player device was instrumental on Inferno and carried his team over the line in a closely-contested Inferno round and everyone thought Fnatic will crumble.
The exact opposite happened, though, as Golden, KRIMZ, and JW produced an elite performance on Overpass to clinch the tie.
Overall, Astralis remain one of the big favorites to come on top at this event but they still have a long way to go before they reach peak form.
Team Vitality Current Form
The Frenchmen lost their opening tie against Ninjas in Pyjamas which was a disappointing start for them but the tie was very close.
They won the first round on Overpass and took an early lead on Inferno but the Ninjas’ team effort prevailed in the end. After that, the third round was settled quickly as Vitality looked very low on confidence.
Despite the defeat, ZywOo was the best player out there and is possibly the top pro in the tournament on current form.
He didn’t receive a lot of support from his teammates against NiP but that improved in the next game against Complexity where apex, RpK, and shox all stepped up their game.
Astralis is a much tougher test but if these guys are able to re-create some of that spark, they have a real chance of upsetting the odds here.
Astralis vs. Vitality Betting Prediction and Pick
Astralis has the edge in the head-to-head department but things are closer than you would expect. They have taken seven rounds against Vitality’s three but it’s also true that three of those had to be settled in overtime.
The Danes will probably move to wave Overpass, their biggest Achilles heel, but the Frenchmen have also been more than a match for them on maps like Dust II and Inferno.
Given the surprising results we’ve already witnessed in this early stage, I believe the +300 price for Vitality is a steal here.
Yes, a brilliant performance will be needed but ZywOo has been on fire since the start and the others have followed suit against Complexity.
That’s why I wrap up my Astralis vs. Vitality betting preview for Tuesday with this as my pick:
