Astralis come in as the favorite but things have been very tight between these two teams lately. Fnatic is always in with a chance, so let’s try to see where the real betting value lies.

Astralis Team Analysis

The Danes were finally able to kick into overdrive in the latter stages of the ESL Pro League when they dealt consecutive sweeps to OG, FaZe, and mousesports.

However, they lost their crunch playoff match against The Mouz and had to exit the tournament. It was a huge disappointment for the world number two but there were definitely some positives to take away.

The biggest one is Magisk’s recent form. The player looks to have finally unlocked his full potential and was also good when Astralis beat Complexity Gaming in their opening ESL One: Road to Rio fixture.

The match did show that the squad is not yet in their highest gear but they were happy to take the win and will now feel confident of handing Fnatic another L.

Fnatic Team Analysis

The Swedes went into the ESL One qualifiers fresh from a title-winning Pro League campaign that saw them beat every big favorite on the way to the final. Including a very impressive 2:1 win over Astralis in Phase 2.

Despite that, the team wasn’t able to recreate the same form in their first match of the current tournament.

They were heavy favorites against Finnish side ENCE but started both rounds slow and couldn’t make up for the deficit. It was a close win on both maps for ENCE but it was still a 2:0 victory that not a lot of people expected.

There’s nothing to panic about but Golden and his team will need a much better performance if they are to challenge their old foes Astralis.

Astralis vs. Fnatic Prediction and Pick

We’re in for another Astralis vs. Fnatic CS:GO classic. The last time these teams met they produced possibly the most entertaining clash at the ESL Pro League which the Swedes edged in the end.

It’s always very difficult to predict what will happen in this fixture as their biggest strengths lie in very different maps.

Given that both lost their maps picks in the first round of the tournament, I expect there will be more mistakes coming from both camps today.

I like how the odds for Fnatic are looking but I feel that the loss against ENCE may have rattled them more than usual. They will still put a fight, though, and with the tiny margins here, I’m more inclined to back a three-round game.

This was the case recently and I feel it will be pretty close once again. So, this is my final pick.
