Altyn Asyr vs. Asgabat Betting Preview – Turkmenistan Yokary Liga, May 4
In this post, I share my Altyn Asyr vs. Asgabat prediction and betting pick as the domestic league continues in Turkmenistan. The reigning champions look as though they might be back in the race. After a stuttering start to the season, results are going Altyn Asyr’s way, and now it faces Asgabat this weekend.
But the visitors have begun the new Yokary Liga season in a very positive manner and will feel that they can take some more points off Altyn Asyr as well.
Altyn Asyr vs. Asgabat Odds
If you were to glance at the league table before checking the odds for this game, you might think that the price for an Asgabat victory looks appealing. But BetOnline has taken into account the chokehold Altyn Asyr has held on the Yokary Liga over the past few years. Times are changing, though, so maybe the draw bet should be investigated.
Even though we are only in the early days of the 2020 Yokary Liga season, the midweek game between Altyn Asyr and Ahal was a huge deal for the home side and reigning champions. Some of the other clubs have increased their capacity to compete this year, and Altyn Asyr has been feeling the heat.
That’s why the victory over Ahal was so important. The current league leaders actually took the lead very early on through national team striker Murat Yakshiyev, but Altyn Asyr battled back into the game and drew level just before the half-hour mark. More pressure in the early part of the second period told, and Mihail Titov scored in the 57th minute. Altyn Asyr held on and will now feel as though it can reclaim its rightful place at the top of the table.
Asgabat might be wishing that it had faced Altyn Asyr in an earlier round of fixtures, considering the champions now look to be getting back into their stride. But three consecutive wins of its own, against admittedly weaker sides, has seen the fellow capital city club sneak into fifth place.
It has been a while since Asgabat troubled the top of the league at the business end of the season, but it is the smaller clubs that need to be beaten if a chance of competing with the big boys is possible. The 5-2 win against Nebitci last time out was very impressive, as the game was long gone by the time the visitors found the net themselves.
Altyn Asyr vs. Asgabat Prediction and Pick
Altyn Asyr to Win-324
The reigning champions have to be backed here after overcoming Ahal in the week. That win could change the look of the season in Turkmenistan, as a defeat for Altyn Asyr would have given the challengers a commanding lead in the table. Now the confidence will be back and a home win should be on the cards. But this will be a tough game and possibly closer than some imagine.
