AGO vs. Sprout Betting Preview With Prediction and Pick – ESEA MDL Season 33 Europe Finals, August 6th

| August 6, 2020 12:47 am PDT

Today’s CS:GO schedule includes the Upper Bracket Final at the latest edition of the ESEA MDL League and it promises to be a thrilling encounter.

Polish squad AGO ROGUE and Germans Sprout were among the best teams at this year’s Premier ESEA Division and are deservedly in the running for the $12,500 prize and a chance to book a place for the 12th season of the ESL Pro League.

However, these organizations haven’t featured in competitive games for nearly a month and the purpose of this AGO vs. Sprout betting preview is to help you spot where the value lies today.

I start off with a look at the odds that the best CS:GO betting sites have rolled out and then share my analysis of the teams.

There is also a free betting pick for you in the end, so make sure you stick around!

AGO vs. Sprout Odds

The prices below are courtesy of BetOnline and here is what their sportsbook has on offer for the main markets:

Match Winner

AGO +161
Sprout -208

Map Advantage

AGO (+1.5) -238
Sprout (-1.5) +182

Total Maps Played

Over 2.5 -102
Under 2.5 -125

Despite being the lower-ranked team, Sprout’s most recent outings have prompted the betting sites to pin them as the favorite here.

Let’s move on to my analysis section and figure out the best way to approach this tie.

AGO Team Analysis

The Poles broke into the Top 40 bracket this season and their most recent performances have pretty much been solid.

Despite losing the Grand Final of the Malta Vibes Cup 1 against Nordavind, wins against forZe, HellRaisers, and Syman Gaming prove that the team belongs in this tier.

Their records on Inferno and Vertigo will give them confidence today but a lot will rely on AWPer mhL’s form.

The 19-year-old has been the key piece in AGO’s ascent and if he receives good support from Furlan and Gruby today, this will probably go down to the wire.

Sprout Team Analysis

The Germans failed to qualify for both the ESL Pro League 11 and the cs_summit 6 events but their record at the ESEA Premier Division makes for impressive reading.

The team finished on top of the pile with only three defeats from seventeen matchups and then brushed aside both Movistar Riders and japaleno to book their place for today’s Upper Bracket Final.

I can see why they are the big favorite here as the additions of the talented marksmen snatchie and the form of AK-47 specialist faveN has improved their credentials significantly.

The team also has the ESL One Cologne tournament to look forward to and overall, there are very good vibes around this organization at present.

AGO vs. Sprout Prediction and Betting Pick

This should be a tight affair and it’s very hard to predict who will come out on top.

Both teams haven’t featured in a while and their past meetings have all been close.

AGO should have the upper hand on Inferno, as I’m almost certain Sprout will wave Vertigo with their first ban pick.

The Germans, however, can be extremely dangerous on Dust II, Overpass, and Mirage and the Poles should think long and hard before deciding on which maps to dismiss.

They will probably ban Mirage first as Sprout has been very successful there in the past but this still leaves ample choice for the Germans to get some of the other preferred venues.

Given the traditionally cagey nature of such high-stakes matchups and the fact that the teams will need some time to build up momentum after such a long hiatus, I believe the best course of action is to use the Over 2.5 market.

I fail to see how any of them will be able to dominate throughout and such closely-contested games go to a third round more often than not, so the -102 price makes perfect sense here.

  • Over 2.5

This concludes my AGO vs. Sprout betting preview for August 6th but there are a bunch of other matchups you can wager on today.

If you’re planning on placing more bets today, you can check out my top esports picks for Thursday where I have lined up several Dota 2 and League of Legends predictions with the latest odds and the reasoning behind my choices.
