Best MNF Games on the 2020 NFL Schedule

It’s time to start circling your calendars, folks.

There are quite a few “must-see” games on the 2020 NFL schedule, especially on the Monday night slate. From the doubleheader in week 1 all the way to the AFC East showdown between the Patriots and the Bills in week 16, the action is going to be fast and furious.

Let’s look ahead to what’s in store.

With some foresight in mind, I’ve narrowed it down to the 5 best MNF games on the 2020 NFL schedule.

Saints @ Raiders – Week 2

The first NFL game at Allegiant Stadium takes place on Monday Night Football in week 2. It’s only fitting that Roger Goodell would exhibit Sin City in a standalone primetime spot against a high-level opponent.

Whether or not any fans will be allowed to attend is still up in the air, but nothing will stop this tilt from being filled with drama and excitement. Drew Brees tends to light it up on Monday nights under the lights, and seeing Jon Gruden and the Raiders play football in Las Vegas has been a long time coming.

As a Las Vegas resident for the past 33 years, I’ll be glued to this one.

Chiefs @ Ravens – Week 3

Buckle up and get your popcorn ready. Make sure you have plenty of snacks and beverages on deck because the week 3 MNF game is as good as it gets.

The two favorites at all of the leading NFL sportsbooks clash in Charm City in what most believe is a preview of the upcoming AFC Championship. Not only are the Chiefs and the Ravens arguably the two best teams in football, but this matchup features star power at its finest.

We get Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson — the two frontrunners in the 2020 NFL MVP race.

This one is going to be juicy!

Cardinals @ Cowboys – Week 6

Don’t look now, but the week 6 MNF game between the Cardinals and Cowboys at Jerry’s World could be a battle of a couple of 4-1 teams. Other than a road test at San Francisco to kick off the year, Arizona’s schedule early on is rather favorable. Dallas plays four of their first six at home and has Super Bowl aspirations.

It’ll be the public’s first look at Kyler Murray in a primetime spot, and by then, a rapport between him and DeAndre Hopkins should be established. This also marks the first meeting between Murray and CeeDee Lamb, former teammates at the University of Oklahoma.

We’ll get to see if the Cowboys are for real, and we’ll get to see if Kyler Murray is an MVP candidate in 2020. That’s more than enough of a storyline to get me on board.

Buccaneers @ Giants – Week 8

The first time we get to see Tom Brady in a Buccaneers uniform on a Monday night is in week 8 against his nemesis. Brady won’t be going up against Eli Manning and Tom Coughlin, but he won’t need to be introduced to the Giants’ current head coach or quarterback, either.

Joe Judge was an assistant in New England from 2012-2019, and Brady squared off against Daniel Jones last season. And don’t forget, Tom torched the Giants for 334 yards en route to a 21-point blowout.

Aside from all of the hoopla surrounding TB12 and Gronk, there’s an intriguing matchup to follow. Saquon Barkley versus last year’s top-ranked run defense.

Seahawks @ Eagles – Week 12

The Eagles’ season came to a screeching halt in last year’s wild card round against the Seahawks. Monday Night Football in week 12 gives Philly a chance for redemption. More importantly, by this time of the season, the playoff picture should be coming into light.

Chances are Doug Pederson’s bunch will be in a heated race with the Cowboys to get to the top of the NFC East Division. Seattle is going to have their hands full keeping pace with the 49ers, which sets the stage for this duel.

Carson Wentz has a lot to prove and should be ultra-motivated, and hopefully, his supporting cast will be healthy. On the flip side, Russell Wilson is striving toward greatness — already considered one of the top players in the game.

The Most Exciting MNF Games in 2020

The release of the 2020 NFL schedule has football enthusiasts like me pretty amped up. Quite frankly, the best MNF games are a big reason why.

Perhaps one will turn into one of the NFL games that will be an instant classic!
