I took these 2022-23 UEFA Champions League odds from BetOnline. As you can see, BetOnline favors Manchester City to go all the way.
Pep Guardiola’s boys finished as runners-up to Chelsea in 2020-21 before falling to Real Madrid in the semi-finals last season. Needless to say, they will be desperate to go one better this time around.
According to BetOnline’s Champions League title odds, Liverpool (+600), Paris Saint-Germain (+600), and Bayern Munich (+750) are Man City’s closest challengers. That said, their prices are notably higher than the frontrunners.
Real Madrid (+1000), Barcelona (+1200), and Chelsea (+1400) are also in the mix. Real Madrid is the defending champion, having secured the silverware for a fifth time in nine years last season.
Tottenham Hotspur (+2000), Juventus (+3300), and Inter Milan (+3300) round out the top ten. AC Milan (+5000) and Atletico Madrid (+6000) fall under +8000, ahead of Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, Sevilla, and Ajax.
To make a successful 2022-23 Champions League prediction, we need to look closely at the top contenders. Let’s start with the bookies’ favorite, Man City.
Why Is Manchester City the 2022-23 UCL Betting Favorite?
Man City looked destined to reach back-to-back Champions League finals last season. However, a remarkable comeback from Real Madrid saw the English giant fall in the semi-finals.
The 2022-23 season will mark a twelfth successive Champions League campaign for the Cityzens. If their recent record in the competition is anything to go by, they appear to be edging closer toward their maiden UCL triumph.
- 2017-18: Quarter-Finals
- 2018-19: Quarter-Finals
- 2019-20: Quarter-Finals
- 2020-21: Runner-Up
- 2021-21: Semi-Finals
Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus have departed the Etihad Stadium, teaming up with Chelsea and Arsenal, respectively. But the arrival of Erling Haaland looks set to make Man City even stronger in the attack.
The Norwegian striker scored 85 goals in 88 games for Borussia Dortmund before joining City for £51 million. Having netted an outrageous 23 goals in 19 Champions League appearances, Haaland could fire City to UCL glory in 2022-23.
Guardiola’s boys have won four of the previous five Premier League titles, so they are no strangers to winning trophies. Now, they must replicate their domestic success on the European stage.
Liverpool, PSG, and Other Top UCL Contenders for 2022-23
All the best European sports betting sites favor Man City to triumph in Istanbul next June. That said, the 2022-23 UEFA Champions League winner odds suggest that several sides are in contention for the silverware.
This section of my UEFA Champions League betting preview covers the five-team chasing pack. From Liverpool at +600 to Chelsea at +1400, there is no shortage of value on offer.
It wouldn’t be unfair to say that Liverpool wasted a monumental chance in last season’s UCL final.
Jurgen Klopp’s men racked up 24 shots at the Stade de France, nine of which were on target. Meanwhile, Real Madrid managed just two attempts on Allison’s goal. Still, against all the odds, the Spanish side came out on top.
Klopp’s squad is seriously strong in every department. From the deadly full-back duo of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson to the lethal attacking trio of Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, and Darwin Nunez, Liverpool is STACKED!
Let’s face it – it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Merseysiders reached a fourth UCL final in six seasons. At the end of the day, they know what it takes to succeed in this competition.
Paris Saint-Germain (+600)
Unsurprisingly, the 2022-23 Ligue 1 odds make PSG the clear favorite to dominate France’s top tier next season. Having won eight of the past ten Ligue 1 titles, the reigning champs look destined to control their domestic league once again.
But for all their domestic dominance, the Parisians have yet to get their hands on the Champions League trophy.
After losing the 2019-20 final to Bayern, PSG fell in the semi-finals in 2020-21. Last season, the French powerhouse was eliminated by Real Madrid in the round of 16.
Kylian Mbappe’s bumper contract extension undoubtedly enhances PSG’s chances of winning the Champions League. The unstoppable forward has chalked up 170 goals and 88 assists in 216 games for the club, making him irreplaceable.
However, there are still question marks over the Parisians’ European pedigree – and those question marks will always be there until they win the UCL.
Bayern Munich (+750)
Bayern reached four Champions League finals in 11 seasons between 2009-10 and 2019-20, triumphing in 2013 and 2020. As a result, only two clubs – Real Madrid and AC Milan – have won more UCL titles over the years.
That said, the Germans have fallen in the quarter-finals in each of the previous two campaigns. Their recent Champions League performances have not been good enough by their high standards.
Having clinched each of the past ten Bundesliga titles, the Bavarians are expected to command proceedings on home soil next season. But they could find it difficult to compete with the frontrunners in the Champions League.
Real Madrid (+1000)
Year after year, Real Madrid beats the UEFA Champions League betting odds. Los Blancos may not have the deepest squad or the strongest starting XI, but they invariably find a way to win.
The table below details that the Spanish giant has won five of the previous nine UCL titles. Following last season’s 1-0 victory over Liverpool, Ancelotti’s men will be confident going back-to-back in 2022-23.
|PAST 10 UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WINNERS|
|2013||Bayern Munich||Borussia Dortmund|
|2014||Real Madrid||Atletico Madrid|
|2016||Real Madrid||Atletico Madrid|
|2020||Bayern Munich||Paris Saint-Germain|
It is also worth noting that Real Madrid is the most successful club in the European Cup/UEFA Champions League history.
The Spaniards won six of their 14 titles before the European Cup became the Champions League in 1992-93. Since then, they have lifted the famous trophy eight times – four times more than any other club in the new era.
|MOST EUROPEAN CUP/UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE TITLES|
Karim Benzema claimed the Champions League Golden Boot last season, scoring 15 goals in 12 outings. In addition to bagging braces against Shakhtar Donetsk and Man City, he netted knockout hat-tricks against PSG and Chelsea.
The evergreen Frenchman also secured the 2021-22 La Liga Golden Boot, firing Real Madrid to the title with 27 goals in 32 appearances. If Benzema can pick up where he left off last season, Los Blancos will be difficult to stop.
Between 2005-06 and 2014-15, Barcelona clinched four Champions League titles in ten seasons. Since then, however, the Catalans have failed to make it past the quarter-finals six times in seven attempts.
Nevertheless, there is a sense that Barca is ready to make a resurgence. Under the guidance of Xavi, the club has been able to attract big names like Lewandowski and Raphinha to Camp Nou – and also grow young stars such as Pedri and Gavi.
Xavi’s boys finished the previous campaign on a high note, winning 11 of their final 15 La Liga games. Not only are they among the favorites to win the Champions League in 2022-23, but they are also among the favorites to win La Liga.
It is difficult to predict how Chelsea will fare under the stewardship of new owner Todd Boehly. The Blues enjoyed huge success throughout the Roman Abramovich era, but they will have to start all over again next season.
The Londoners won five EPL titles in 13 seasons between 2004-05 and 2016-17. They also sealed two Champions League triumphs during Abramovich’s reign, lifting the trophy in 2012 and 2021.
The 2022-23 UEFA Champions League odds suggest that Chelsea stands a decent chance of winning the competition for the second time in three years. Time will tell whether the English side can compete with the big boys.

Champions League Outsiders to Monitor in 2022-23
Thanks to the bookies’ generous 2022-23 UEFA Champions League winner odds, there are plenty of outsiders to consider. I recommend keeping a close eye on the following three sleepers if you want to stray away from the apparent favorites.
Tottenham Hotspur (+2000)
After reaching the 2018-19 UCL final, Spurs will be eager to go one better in 2022-23. Thankfully, they have tons of top players like Harry Kane and Son Heung-min – and a world-class manager in Antonio Conte.
The Italian manager clinched no fewer than five top-flight titles during spells at Juventus, Chelsea, and Inter Milan. Having proved himself as a serial winner, Conte looks set to take Tottenham to the next level.
- Serie A Title (4)
- Suppercoppa Italiana (2)
- Premier League Title (1)
- FA Cup (1)
- Serie B Title (1)
Inter Milan (+3300)
Inter’s odds to win the Champions League in 2022-23 are bound to attract plenty of attention. Why? Because the Italians have registered three consecutive top-two finishes in Serie A, re-establishing themselves as a genuine force.
Following the return of Romelu Lukaku, Inter sits atop the bookies’ 2022-23 Serie A odds. If Simone Inzaghi’s boys can transfer their domestic form into the European arena, there is no reason why they can’t compete for the UCL crown.
Atletico Madrid (+6000)
For years, Spanish soccer was all about Real Madrid and Barcelona. But Diego Simeone has changed that. Under the guidance of Simeone, Atletico Madrid has claimed two La Liga titles, two Europa League crowns, and one Copa de Rey title across the past decade.
Let’s not forget that Atletico also reached the final of the Champions League in 2013-14 and 2015-16. Although they fell to Real Madrid on both occasions, they will fancy their chances of challenging the trophy in 2022-23.
My 2022-23 Champions League Prediction and Pick
Of course, Man City is the bookies’ favorite for a reason. The Cityzens’ squad is stacked with world-class stars – and the recent arrival of Haaland makes them even more of a threat.
Still, I can’t see Guardiola’s boys breaking their Champions League curse in 2022-23. They always seem to fall short in Europea’s premier club tournament, so I can’t justify backing them to lift the trophy next season.
On the flip side, Liverpool boasts a rich history in European competition. The Merseysiders have won six Champions League titles over the years and have added another trophy to their collection in 2019.
Klopp’s men dominated last season’s final, too, only to suffer an agonizing 1-0 defeat to Real Madrid. You can bet your bottom dollar that Salah and co. will be desperate to make amends for last season’s shortcomings.
That concludes my 2022-23 UEFA Champions League betting guide. The new UCL campaign kicks off in September, so check out our Champions League picks throughout the season.
