NFL Honors 2022 – Predictions for NFL MVP, Rookie of the Year, and More

This week, all eyes are on SoFi Stadium for Super Bowl 56 between the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals. The top Super Bowl betting sites will have you on top of Super Bowl 56.
Still, we have a big event on Thursday night that most people forget.
NFL Honors will honor the best players in the NFL with multiple awards, including MVP, Offensive/Defensive Player of the Year, Offensive/Defensive Rookie of the Year, Comeback Player of the Year, and Coach of the Year.
We should see stars on hand, like Aaron Rodgers, Ja’Marr Chase, and Micah Parsons. Who else will be in contention to earn an award this season?
Where to Bet on the 2022 NFL Awards
These represent the top sites for betting on the 2022 NFL Honors. They have consistently put out odds for each award all season. When someone asks me where to bet on the 2022 NFL Honors, I’m comfortable recommending any of these sites.
Sites like SportsBetting.ag and BetUS are my go-to for football betting. It just so happens they are a great option for where to bet on the 2022 NFL Awards.
I feel comfortable using these sites to bet on the 2022 NFL Honors. Now, let’s check out the odds for each award.
Odds for the NFL Awards in 2022
The 2022 NFL Awards odds tell us about the top contenders for each award. Some have a clear favorite, but we have a few competitive battles.
Let’s check out the 2022 NFL Honors odds, starting with NFL MVP.
2022 NFL MVP Award
The NFL MVP race was extremely competitive in the first half of the season. We often found ourselves asking who will win the 2022 NFL MVP. In the second half, we began to see Tom Brady separate himself from the pack.
Brady was the lone quarterback from the early MVP contenders who didn’t slow down. That left him as the de facto NFL MVP favorite. That was until Aaron Rodgers went on this late-season tear.
Week | Completion Percentage | Yards | Touchdowns |
Week 11 | 69.7 | 385 | 4 |
Week 12 | 62.2 | 307 | 2 |
Week 14 | 78.4 | 341 | 4 |
Week 15 | 74.2 | 268 | 3 |
The most impressive part of that stretch was zero interceptions. In fact, Rodgers failed to throw an interception in the final seven regular-season games. That has him in prime position to win his second straight MVP.
It’s also why Rodgers is the most desirable player on the market. We’ve already done a full breakdown of his status for 2022.
Brady led the league in passing yards and touchdowns, but Rodgers has the top mark for QBR and passer rating. Rodgers’s four interceptions were the fewest for any quarterback with more than 10 starts. For comparison, Brady threw 12 interceptions.
Joe Burrow had a strong close to the season, but I don’t see him challenging Rodgers or Brady. I’m sure playing in Super Bowl 56 isn’t a bad consolation.
2022 NFL Offensive Player of the Year Award
The most competitive battle among the 2022 NFL Awards comes from the Offensive Player in the Year. Following a regular season-ending injury to Derrick Henry, Jonathan Taylor emerged as the top running back.
Taylor closed the season by clearing 100+ yards in seven of his last nine games. That stretch includes three games with over 170 yards. He also had a five-touchdown game against the Buffalo Bills.

Overall, Taylor led the league with 332 carries, 1,811 rushing yards, and 18 touchdowns. It wasn’t much of a battle as he literally ran away with the title of best running back in 2021.
Should he win Offensive Player of the Year? Cooper Kupp might have something to say about that. Taylor did most of his damage in the second half, but Kupp was a force all season. Only once in the regular season did he fail to reach 90 receiving yards.
Kupp became the first NFL receiver to capture the triple crown. He did so by leading the NFL with 145 receptions, 1,947 yards, and 16 touchdowns. He had a strong argument for the 2022 NFL MVP.
Who will win the 2022 Offensive Player of the Year Award? That should be the most anticipated announcement of the 2022 NFL Honors.
2022 NFL Defensive Player of the Year Award
T.J. Watt has spent the last few years trying to overtake Aaron Donald for Defensive Player of the Year. It looks like his 2021 season was enough to take home an award at the 2022 NFL Honors.
Watt has always been a sack master, but he took it to another level this season. He had at least 1.5 sacks in six of his first seven games. Watt made a push for the single-season sack record with four in Week 17.
Check out where his sack total ranks in a single season.
- T.J. Watt (2021): 22.5
- Michael Strahan (2001): 22.5
- Justin Houston (2014): 22.0
- Jared Allen (2011): 22.0
- Mark Gastineau (1984): 22.0
Many people give Watt the edge over Michael Strahan because he achieved this mark in 15 games.
Micah Parsons had a fantastic season as a rookie, and we’ll talk more about him later. Trevon Diggs was a ballhawk all season and could be an intriguing value pick for the 2022 Defensive Player of the Year.
2022 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Award
With all due respect to players like Jaylen Waddle and Elijah Mitchell, the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award has been a two-man race all season.
Ja’Marr Chase burst onto the scene with five touchdowns in his first five games. He followed up that stretch by going for 201 yards and a touchdown in Week 7. Chase slowed down in the middle portion, but then, he had this performance in Week 17.
- 11 receptions
- 266 yards
- 3 touchdowns
Overall, Chase finished with 81 receptions, 1,455 yards, and 13 touchdowns. His yards broke the single-season record for a rookie. It didn’t take long for him to become a rookie superstar in 2021.
Mac Jones didn’t have a great start to the season, but he led the New England Patriots on a seven-game win streak. His hype came to a halt when the Patriots lost three of their last four games.
Who will win the 2022 Offensive Rookie of the Year Award? The odds tell us Chase, but Jones is close enough to make things interesting. It might not be easy to make an NFL Rookie of the Year prediction.
2022 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Award
The most lopsided award for the 2022 NFL Honors comes from the Defensive Rookie of the Year. It’s not a question of who will win the 2022 Defensive Rookie of the Year, but will Micah Parsons win unanimously.
Parsons had a good, not great start to the season, but we saw him explode during the middle portion. He recorded a career-high 11 tackles in Week 8 against the Minnesota Vikings. The following week, Parsons recorded a career-high 2.5 sacks.
He finished the season with 84 tackles, 13 sacks, and three forced fumbles. Parsons was the driving force behind an improved Dallas Cowboys defense.
Patrick Surtain II had a solid rookie season with 45 tackles, 14 passes defended, and four interceptions. He recorded his first career interception on a 70-yard pick-six against the Los Angeles Chargers.
If there was an overall NFL Rookie of the Year prediction, I’d likely go to Micah Parsons. He has a legit argument for Defensive Player of the Year.
2022 NFL Comeback Player of the Year Award
The top three contenders for Comeback Player of the Year all recovered from season-ending injuries in 2020. Dak Prescott had a devastating ankle injury that left his future in question. He signed a big contract in the offseason and kicked off the season with a bang.

He threw for 3+ touchdowns in five of his first six games. Prescott finished the season with a 68.8 completion percentage, 4,449 passing yards, and 37 touchdowns. He had control of Comeback Player of the Year until Joe Burrow’s late-season surge.
Burrow put up solid numbers throughout the season, but we didn’t see game-changing numbers until the end of the regular season. He passed for 971 yards and eight touchdowns in his final two games.
His 525 yards against the Baltimore Ravens are the fourth-most in a single game in NFL history. Check out Burrow’s top prop bets for Super Bowl 56.
Prescott and Burrow represent the top two contenders for the 2022 Comeback Player of the Year Award. Nick Bosa and Carson Wentz are longshots that shouldn’t battle Prescott or Burrow.
This award should come down to the wire at NFL Honors.
2022 NFL Coach of the Year Award
We’ve talked about a few NFL Award predictions with two top contenders, but the 2022 Coach of the Year Award features three deserving candidates.
Mike Vrabel has the best odds to take home the award at NFL Honors. Vrabel led the Tennessee Titans to the No. 1 seed in the AFC with a 12-5 record. He did this without Derrick Henry, as he missed the second half of the season.
Some people would’ve said Zac Taylor was on the hot seat coming into the season. Check out his record in his first two seasons.
- 2019: 2-14
- 2020: 4-11-1
The Cincinnati Bengals came in as the worst team in the AFC North. Taylor led them to the AFC North title with a 10-7 record.
The postseason record doesn’t count for Coach of the Year, but Taylor has the Bengals in the Super Bowl. He is one of the reasons Adam Haynes believes Cincinnati can win Super Bowl 56.
Matt LaFleur led the Green Bay Packers to the No. 1 spot in the NFC for the second straight season. However, we expected the Packers in Super Bowl contention, so will that affect his chances to win the 2022 Coach of the Year?
NFL Awards Predictions for 2022
- NFL MVP: Aaron Rodgers
- NFL Offensive Player of the Year: Cooper Kupp
- NFL Defensive Player of the Year: T.J. Watt
- NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year: Ja’Marr Chase
- NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year: Micah Parsons
- NFL Comeback Player of the Year: Dak Prescott
- NFL Coach of the Year: Zac Taylor
It’s not much of a surprise, but I’m going with almost all the favorites for NFL Honors. Aaron Rodgers’ late-season surge combined with the Green Bay Packers success should earn him his second straight NFL MVP Award.
I like Cooper Kupp and T.J. Watt to win Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year Award, respectively, for the first time in their career.
Dak Prescott’s season-long success should give him the edge of Joe Burrow. However, I don’t have the Cincinnati Bengals coming up short in the 2022 NFL Honors.
Zac Taylor exceeded expectations enough to earn my vote for the 2022 Coach of the Year Award. Taylor concludes my NFL Award predictions.
NFL Honors Betting Tips and Strategy
Now that we’ve gone over each award and you’ve seen my NFL Award predictions, I want to give you a pair of betting tips.
The Favorite Is the Best Bet
In sports betting, betting on the favorite might seem like the safe bet, but no one wants to take the easy route. They want the value play, so they can maximize their earnings. However, that doesn’t apply to NFL Honors.
The sportsbooks have a pretty good idea of who will win the award for NFL MVP, Rookie of the Year, etc. We have a few close battles, but the NFL MVP and Defensive Rookie of the Year should go to the favorite. It’d surprise me if T.J. Watt didn’t win Defensive Player of the Year.
It doesn’t offer much value, but this is the best way to approach betting on NFL Honors.
Bet on Quarterbacks for MVP and Skill Players for Offensive Player of the Year
The quarterback is the most important position on the field, so it’s no surprise that only one non-quarterback has won MVP in the last 15 years. And that took Adrian Peterson nearly breaking the record for most rushing yards in a season.
The award should go to the Most Valuable Player, but it’s always a quarterback. That’s why Cooper Kupp and Jonathan Taylor have such long odds, despite an outstanding season.
Luckily, one of them should win Offensive Player of the Year. Patrick Mahomes is the only quarterback to win in the last four years. Kupp had a legendary season in 2021, so he should claim the award at NFL Honors.
The #NFL’s Triple Crown winner @CooperKupp is a BADDD man. ? pic.twitter.com/4XG34t0el0
— Designated Report (@DesignatedRpt) February 6, 2022
It’s also extremely rare to see a defensive player win MVP. We’ve seen multiple in the NFL MVP race, but only two have won the award. They don’t represent a good bet for the NFL MVP.
Betting on Who Will Win at the NFL Honors in 2022
It might seem anti-climactic, but I like almost all the favorites for NFL Honors. Truthfully, I could see someone like Tom Brady for MVP or Joe Burrow for Comeback Player of the Year, but we don’t see many upsets at NFL Honors.
My NFL Award predictions are fairly chalky, and I’m okay with that. Bettors can’t waste time betting on their favorite picks, as NFL Honors takes place Thursday night.
However, we have a few more days until Super Bowl 56. That gives you a few extra days to check out the Super Bowl 56 betting guide.
