BetOnline is one of the top online betting sites for rugby, and has Ireland’s Leinster as the favorites to win the Heineken Champions Cup in 2022.
Just behind Leo Cullens men are France’s Racing 92, with La Rochelle and Toulouse making up the rest of the favorites to lift the cup.
England’s Leicester is the only English team under the ten-to-one mark, with Ireland’s Munster, Sale Sharks of England, and France’s Montpellier making up the rest.
I’ll be making predictions for the 2022 Heineken Champions Cup quarter-finals a little later. So stick me for those.
If you want my Heineken Cup winner pick for 2022, it’s got to be Leinster. I don’t think there is a better side in the tournament. More than this, the Dublin-based outfit has such ridiculous strength-in-depth, as well as a prolific conveyor belt of talent.
Looking to add a fifth ERCC star over that famous badge, this is the team to beat. And how good is it that you can still get them at +200? Not for long, I might add.

Pick: Leinster +200

Although we’ll have to wait to find out who wins the 2022 Heineken Champions Cup quarter-finals, the semis will be played between May 13 and 15. The teams who advance will determine where matches are held.
What we do know is that the winner of Munster vs. Toulouse will face the victor in the Leicester-Leinster game. That means we could have both an all-Irish and all-French semi, should certain results work out that way.
The final will be played on Saturday, May 28 at the Stade Velodrome in Marseille, France. You can find out more about 2022 ERCC fixtures by visiting the official European Professional Club Rugby website.
With that covered, it’s time to make 2022 Heineken Champions Cup quarter-finals predictions and picks.
Predictions for Munster vs. Toulouse with Pick
Home Team: Munster
Betting Favorite: Toulouse (-250)
Player to Watch: Antoine Dupont (Toulouse)
Although far from enthralling matches, Munster emerged from their second-round matchup with Exeter with the win.
The two-time champions will host defending champions Toulouse on May 7. But that Thomond Park factor will be missing, as the Limerick-based provincial outfit play at the Aviva Stadium. Why? Well, some red-headed “musician” will be playing a gig at their home ground on that evening. You could not make it up.
But let’s not mention any more of that Sheeran guy when we have 2022 Heineken Cup predictions for Munster vs. Toulouse to tackle. First, who wins?
Well, the good news for the Irish side is that Peter O’Mahony looks to be back to full fitness. However, Ireland international Dave Kilcoyne has been ruled out for the rest of the season. Tadhg Beirne, Jack O’Sullivan, Gavin Coombes, Andrew Conway, James French, and RG Snyman are all in rehab, but it is hoped that at least one or two of that group will be fit for the match.

A huge thanks to all of the Munster supporters who have already booked their place at next week's #HeinekenChampionsCup quarter-final against Toulouse!
Tickets went on sale last week & over 25,000 have already been snapped up ???#MUNvTOU #SUAF ?
Toulouse head back to Ireland following a second-round aggregate victory over Ulster. The French club won 50-49, breaking the hearts of Dan McFarland’s men. They will be confident of putting Munster away on May 7.
Is it fair to suggest that the team that beat them in the 2007 Heineken Cup final should not be as strong away from “Fortress Thomond,” and their injuries will catch up with them at some point? I think so.
With the sublime half-back combination of Antoine Dupont and Romain Ntamack, you would have to fancy the French outfit in a one-game shootout. As long as the visitors can maintain their discipline, and execute their chances, they should edge this.
Prediction: Munster 18-28 Toulouse
Best Bet: Toulouse -5.5 Points (-118)
Leceister Tigers vs. Leinster Prediction and Pick
Home Team: Leicester
Betting Favorite: Leinster (-250)
Player to Watch: Jamison Gibson Park (Leinster)
The 2022 Heineken Champions Cup odds are against Leicester beating Leinster.
Naturally. The tournament favorites have been all over this competition in the last decade or so, and are chasing a record-equalling fifth title. But Leicester, currently riding high in the Gallagher Premiership, will be up for this one.
The English side overcame a stubborn Clermont in the second round, beating the perennial chokers in both ties. A 29-10 win in France was followed up by a 27-17 victory at Welford Road on April 16, helping the awakening giants of Europe through to the quarters.
Although my 2022 Heineken Cup predictions for Leicester vs. Leinster ultimately bend toward the visitors taking the win, it promises to be a tough test for Jonathan Sexton and company. -Standout
The Irish province will be aware of the threat the Tigers pose. They are a terribly tough nut to crack at home, as evidenced by their superb record at their HQ this season. But this is Leinster. A team that is undoubtedly up there with the best on the planet.
Before I make my 2022 Heineken Cup quarter-final betting picks for Leicester for Leinster, I will say that I’m probably looking forward to this one more than any other tie in the round. It’s no secret that I am a fan of the Irish province, but I don’t think it’s a stretch to suggest that this is the top matchup of the quarter-finals.

1️⃣1️⃣ tries in his last 6️⃣ #LeinsterRugby appearances has lifted @JamesLowe_03 to seventh in our all-time top try-scorers list. ?
He shares that spot with @SeanCronin2, both on 4️⃣5️⃣ tries. ?#LEIvCON #HeinekenChampionsCup pic.twitter.com/Z4shqj9PBw
Although I’m sure the likes of James Lowe and Garry Ringrose could prove me wrong, I believe the key man for me will be Leinster scrumhalf, Jamison Gibson-Park.
If he can keep the tempo high with constant quick ball, the 2022 European Rugby Champions Cup betting favorites should get over the line. Although I’m expecting the first half to be tight, Leinster should be out of sight by the final quarter.
Some of the top betting sites for rugby are offering solid odds for Leinster to beat Leicester by 6 points or more. If they can beat the spread of 5.5 points, you could potentially win some decent money at -118.
Prediction: Leicester 19-28 Leinster
Best Bet: Leinster -5.5 (-118)
Betting On La Rochelle vs. Montpellier
Home Team: La Rochelle
Betting Favorite: La Rochelle (-834)
Player to Watch: Ihaia West (La Rochelle)
La Rochelle are huge favorites to win the 2022 Heineken Champions Cup matchup with Montepellier.
The Top 14’s highest scorers are also just behind Toulouse with the most points conceded in the league. Former Ireland fly-half Ronan O’Gara has really pushed his side forward this year. Boosted by the reliable boot of Isiah West, the French side has looked exceptional in the later stages of the season.
Two wins over Bordeaux in the second round mean another all-French knockout tie for the Top 14’s third-placed team. Montpellier, currently topping the table in France, will know how good this side is at home. Again, the French teams are much better when on their own patch.
The Heineken Champions Cup odds for the quarter-finals are heavily in favor of La Rochelle here. And it’s not a stretch to suggest that much of that has to do with them playing at Stade Marcel Deflandre. Montpellier will find it tough to unlock their solid defense and might struggle to get a grip on the game unless they come out roaring.
Montpellier has been atrocious on the road. An 89-7 loss in Dublin was one of the worst performances of the season.
It would take a brave man to acknowledge that lack of guile away from home and make 2022 European Rugby Champions Cup quarter-final predictions in favor of them changing things up on May 7. I’m certainly not that man.
The best of my 2022 Heineken Cup best bets for La Rochelle vs. Montpellier is to take O’Gara’s outfit to beat the first-half handicap of -5.5 points.
Prediction: La Rochelle 25-16 Montpellier
Best Bet: La Rochelle to Win First Half -5.5 Points (-125)
Racing 92 vs. Sale Sharks Betting Preview with Pick
Home Team: Racing 92
Betting Favorite: Racing 92 (-1000)
Player to Watch: Teddy Thomas (Racing 92)
The shortest odds for the 2022 Heineken Champions Cup quarter-finals can be found in the final match of the round.
Aspiring champions, Racing, host England’s Sale Sharks on Sunday, May 8 in Paris. The home side will be super confident of putting the Sharks to the sword, having knocked fellow Parisians, Stade Francais, in the second round.
Before I explore any potential 2022 ERCC quarter-final betting picks for Racing vs. Sale, I think it’s only fair to assess whether Sale is good betting value here. At odds of +450 to win, it’s worth thinking about. Could the visitors spring a surprise?
In all fairness, I can’t see it. This Racing team is just stacked with talent and has a real chance of winning their first title this year. Sale is a good side, but the task of coming away with a win from the French capital is just too much for them.
Finn Russell will be one of the men to watch but I believe Teddy Thomas will enjoy a big game against the English. Although those betting on France to win the 2023 Rugby World Cup won’t be pinning all their hopes on the prolific winger, he is the type of player you want on your team.
Sale has a job on their hands containing him and a superstar set of backs that could really rack up a score here. My 2022 Heineken Cup quarter-final predictions for Racing 92 vs. Sale are a win for the home team by 15+ points.
With that being said, the best bet for this ERCC Champions Cup quarter-final tie is Racing with a -15.5 deficit to overcome.
Prediction: Racing 92 42-16 Sale
Best Bet: Racing -15.5 Points (+110)
