The following section of this 2022 Monaco Grand Prix betting guide covers the latest Monaco GP odds.
2022 Monaco Grand Prix Odds
The gap between the two frontrunners and the rest of the field has gradually widened throughout the season. As you can see, BetOnline views Charles Leclerc (+100) and Max Verstappen (+130) as the clear favorites once again.
Leclerc won two of the opening three races, while Verstappen has won four of the previous six. That tells you everything you need to know about the duo’s dominance.
Sainz has clinched three podiums this year; Perez secured his third P2 finish last weekend, while the Mercedes pair of Hamilton and Russell should push for a spot on the podium in Monaco.
Last weekend, the other 14 drivers were priced between +8500 and +300000 to win the Spanish GP. With the six frontrunners pulling away from the chasing pack, the outsiders are priced between +10000 and +400000 for the Monaco GP.

Why Are Leclerc and Verstappen the Clear Favorites?
It is no surprise that BetOnline regards Leclerc and Verstappen as the out-and-out favorites to triumph in Monaco. I mean, they have been the best drivers by a considerable margin this year.
When it comes to predicting who will win the 2022 Monaco Grand Prix, Leclerc and Verstappen are undoubtedly the top picks. But who will come out on top this weekend? Let’s take a closer look at both drivers.
Leclerc Will Be Eager to Bounce Back on Home Soil
Leclerc was on course to win the Spanish GP before an engine failure forced him to retire. The Ferrari star was more than 12 seconds clear of his nearest challenger at one point in the race. But his weekend ended in a disaster.
Still, Leclerc can take confidence from the fact that he was so far ahead of everyone else. If it weren’t for a rare technical issue, he would have almost certainly triumphed in Spain.

The Monegasque driver won the opening race of the season in Bahrain before winning the third race in Australia. Now, he has the chance to take the chequered flag on home soil. Can he rediscover his early-season form?
If his display in the previous race is anything to go by, Leclerc can definitely challenge for P1 in Monaco. He was miles clear of his rivals before the power unit problem, so he should be confident of pleasing his home fans this weekend.
Verstappen Can Notch Four Straight Wins This Weekend
We all know that Verstappen endured a difficult start to the 2022 season. Although he won the second race in Saudi Arabia, he registered DNFs in Bahrain and Australia. However, he heads to Monaco on the back of three successive victories.
Following triumphs in the United States, Italy, and Spain, the defending champion finds himself atop the World Drivers’ Championship standings for the first time this year. It won’t be easy to knock him off his perch.
WORLD DRIVERS’ CHAMPIONSHIP STANDINGS | ||
---|---|---|
Driver | Constructor | Points |
Max Verstappen | Red Bull | 110 |
Charles Leclerc | Ferrari | 104 |
Sergio Perez | Red Bull | 85 |
George Russell | Mercedes | 74 |
Carlos Sainz | Ferrari | 65 |
Lewis Hamilton | Mercedes | 46 |
Granted, Verstappen benefitted from Leclerc’s engine failure in Spain. But it is worth noting that he spun off the track on lap nine and had a lot of ground to make up. Still, he managed to fight back to snatch P1.
In my eyes, the only reason why Verstappen is not the bookmakers’ favorite to win the Monaco GP is that Monaco is Leclerc’s home track. I wouldn’t be surprised if Verstappen outperformed Leclerc this weekend.
Who Are the Top Monaco Grand Prix Sleepers?
Due to the total dominance of Leclerc and Verstappen, all the other drivers are outsiders at the moment. I mean, Sainz is the bookies’ third favorite to triumph in Monaco – and he is priced at +1600!
In this section of my 2022 Monaco Grand Prix betting preview, I will be looking at the Monaco Grand Prix sleepers. Realistically, the following four drivers are the only other contenders for the chequered flag.
Could Sainz Claim P1 in Monaco?
Sainz kicked off the season with finishes of P2 in Bahrain and P3 in Saudi Arabia. Unfortunately, he was forced to retire from the next two races following crashes in Australia and Italy.
However, the Spanish Ferrari driver returned to the podium in Miami before finishing fourth in Spain. If he can stay out of trouble in Monaco, there is no reason why he can’t challenge for another podium spot this weekend.
Will Perez Finish Atop the Podium?
Perez has not finished outside the top four in each of the previous five races. It is also worth pointing out that he has registered three P2 finishes in the last four Grand Prix. Pretty impressive, right?
It is no secret that Verstappen is the leading man at Red Bull, but Perez has proved that he is more than capable of competing for P1. Let’s not forget that Verstappen and Perez drive the same car!
Only Verstappen has claimed more podiums than Perez’s three this year. The Mexican’s consistency makes him a top Monaco Grand Prix pick.
Is Hamilton Ready to Win Again?
By his own high standards, Hamilton has endured a season to forget up to now. Since then, the seven-time champion finished third in the first race but has failed to find his way back onto the podium.
That said, he reminded everyone of his ability with a hugely impressive performance in Spain. Despite suffering a puncture on the opening lap, he battled back to snatch P5 last weekend.
As one of the greatest Formula 1 drivers of all time, Hamilton is never too far away from winning a race. Although he has struggled this season, you would be foolish to write him off when making your Monaco Grand Prix prediction.
Can Russell Maintain His Consistency?
Russell enhanced his status as “Mr. Consistency” by securing a six straight top-five finish last time out. Thanks to a P3 finish in Spain, the Mercedes newcomer has claimed two podiums across the previous four races.
Now six races in the top five! 😃

Remarkably, Russell continues to outperform Hamilton in the other Mercedes. If the youngster can maintain his consistency, it is surely only a matter of time before he clinches his maiden Formula 1 race win.
Best Bets for the Monaco Grand Prix
You won’t be surprised to learn that Leclerc and Verstappen are among my best bets for the Monaco Grand Prix. If the season’s early stages are anything to go by, one of the two favorites should triumph this weekend.
Priced at +100 and +130, respectively, Leclerc and Verstappen both offer decent value. Given that no other driver has tasted victory this year, the 2022 Monaco Grand Prix odds are pretty generous.
Perez and Russell complete my top picks for the Monaco GP. Both drivers have been extremely consistent over the past few races, so I think they stand the best chance of upsetting the Monaco GP odds.
While Perez has claimed three P2 finishes in the past four races, Russell has yet to finish outside the top five this season. Those records make Perez and Russell the best Monaco Grand Prix sleepers.
My 2022 Monaco Grand Prix Winner Prediction
Without my Monaco GP prediction, this 2022 Monaco Grand Prix betting guide would not be complete. So, who will take the chequered flag this weekend?
The Monaco Grand Prix odds suggest that Sunday’s showdown will be a two-horse race between Leclerc and Verstappen. The two championship protagonists have been head and shoulders above the rest in 2022, meaning their dominance will likely continue in Monaco.
Although Verstappen has won the last three races, I’m backing Leclerc to triumph on home soil. The Monegasque driver knows the Circuit de Monaco better than most and will be desperate to bounce back in front of his home fans.
There is no hiding the fact that Leclerc was miles ahead of everyone else before suffering an unfortunate power unit failure last weekend. It will be difficult to stop him if he opens up a similar lead in Monaco.
It is worth remembering that the Circuit de Monaco presents very few overtaking opportunities. Since Leclerc has claimed each of the past two pole positions – and four of the previous six – he could lead the entire race this weekend.
