The 2022 Hungarian Grand Prix odds are listed above. As expected, Max Verstappen (+110) and Charles Leclerc (+175) are the bookies’ favorites.

Between them, Verstappen and Leclerc have won ten of the 12 races this year. Verstappen has claimed seven victories, while Leclerc has taken the chequered flag on three occasions. Will they dominate once again?

Carlos Sainz (+750) is seen as Verstappen and Leclerc’s nearest challenger. Earlier this month, the Spaniard triumphed at the British Grand Prix before coming from the back of the grid to secure P5 last weekend.

The 2022 Hungarian GP odds reflect the improvements that Lewis Hamilton (+1000) has made recently. The Mercedes man will be confident of triumphing at the Hungaroring after achieving four successive podiums.

According to the 2022 Hungarian Grand Prix betting odds, Sergio Perez (+1600) and George Russell (+2200) are the only other realist contenders for P1 this weekend. The other 14 drivers are priced between +20000 and +300000.

I took these odds to win the 2022 Hungarian Grand Prix from Betway’s sportsbook. Why not inspect our Betway review before heading to the site?

Why Are Verstappen and Leclerc the Hungarian GP Favorites?

As I already mentioned, Verstappen and Leclerc have dominated proceedings in 2022. So, it’s no real surprise that all the best Formula 1 betting sites favor the two frontrunners to triumph in Hungary this weekend.

But who will win the 2022 Hungarian Grand Prix? Can Verstappen secure back-to-back race wins? Or will Leclerc make amends for his mistake in France? It’s time to take a closer look at the Hungarian GP favorites.

Max Verstappen (+110)

Verstappen heads into the Hungarian GP on the back of his seventh victory of 2022. The Red Bull driver finished more than ten seconds ahead of Hamilton last time out, adding another 25 points to his tally.

As a result, the reigning champion finds himself 63 points clear atop the 2022 World Drivers’ Championship standings. If he carries on the way he’s going, he shouldn’t struggle to defend his crown later this year.

2022 WORLD DRIVERS’ CHAMPIONSHIP STANDINGS
Driver Constructor Race Wins Points
Max Verstappen Red Bull 7 233
Charles Leclerc Ferrari 3 170
Sergio Perez Red Bull 1 163
Carlos Sainz Ferrari 1 144
George Russell Mercedes 143
Lewis Hamilton Mercedes 127

Not only has Verstappen won three of the last five races, but he has also won six of the previous nine. After securing P3 in Monaco and P2 in Austria, the 24-year-old sits in a commanding position as we approach the midway point in the season.

Of course, Verstappen benefited from Leclerc’s error in France. But judging by the early stages of last weekend’s race, the Red Bull star could – and probably would – have overtaken the Ferrari man before the chequered flag.

Charles Leclerc (+175)

Leclerc would have been brimming with belief after winning the Austrian GP. And after claiming pole position for the French GP, the Ferrari driver would have been confident of sealing back-to-back victories for the first time this year.

However, a costly mistake saw Leclerc crash out while leading the French GP. The Monegasque misjudged the Beausset right-hander and ended up flying into the tire barrier, ending his race in the process.

Leclerc made a strong start to the season, winning two of the opening three races. Since then, however, the 24-year-old has managed to pick up a solitary victory in nine outings.

There is no doubting Leclerc’s ability, but he has made a series of disappointing errors over the past few months. With three retirements coming in the previous seven races, it isn’t easy to back Leclerc at the moment.

Other Contenders for the 2022 Hungarian Grand Prix

According to the 2022 Hungarian Grand Prix betting odds, Verstappen and Leclerc are the clear favorites. But with four drivers priced between +750 and +2200, we need to analyze the rest of the field before settling on a 2022 Hungarian Grand Prix prediction.

This section of my Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix betting guide covers the other Red Bull and Ferrari drivers and the Mercedes duo of Hamilton and Russell.

Carlos Sainz (+750)

Last weekend, Sainz started from the back row of the grid after Ferrari changed his entire hybrid system ahead of the French GP. However, the grid penalty didn’t prevent the Spaniard from claiming an impressive fifth-place finish.

Sainz showed all his class as he made his way through the field, overtaking multiple cars en route to P5. He also recorded the fastest lap. Just imagine what he could have achieved if he had started near the front of the grid!

It’s fair to say that Sainz has experienced an up-and-down season so far. Of course, the victory in England is the standout moment of his year. But he also has four DNFs to his name. No driver has failed to finish more races in 2022.

Still, the Ferrari driver has achieved six podiums this season. If he can pick up where he left off in France, he will give himself an excellent chance of winning the Hungarian GP.

Lewis Hamilton (+1000)

Lewis Hamilton

We all know that Hamilton made a below-par start to the 2022 campaign. Despite finishing third in the opening race of the season, the Brit failed to find a podium in the next seven races.

Still, the seven-time World Champion didn’t stay quiet for long. After securing three consecutive third-place finishes in Canada, Britain, and Austria, he claimed his best finish of the season in France – sealing P2 last time out.

Hamilton qualified behind Leclerc, Verstappen, and Perez last weekend but gained two places. Granted, he finished more than ten seconds behind Verstappen. But the improvements are clear for all to see.

It is surely only a matter of time before Hamilton clinches his first victory of the season. Having claimed 103 race wins across his glittering career, he is destined to triumph again sooner or later.

Sergio Perez (+1600)

There was a time earlier in the season when Perez looked like a genuine title contender. Between the Australian GP and the British GP, the Red Bull man registered one victory and five P2s finishes in eight races.

However, “Checo” has struggled of late. After being forced to retire from the Austrian GP, the Mexican dropped from P3 to P4 in France. Now, he finds himself 70 points behind Verstappen in the standings.

That said, Perez’s odds of winning the 2022 Hungarian Grand Prix are seriously attractive. Given that he took the chequered flag in Monaco, his price of +1600 is bound to draw plenty of attention.

Let’s not forget that Perez is one of only four drivers to have won a race this year. He has also achieved more podiums than Leclerc, so you would be foolish to write him off when making your 2022 Hungarian Grand Prix prediction.

George Russell (+2200)

George Russell

Last weekend, Russell enhanced his reputation as “Mr. Consistency” with an impressive P3 finish in France.

Believe it or not, the Mercedes new boy has claimed 11 top-five finishes in 12 races this season. If it weren’t for an unfortunate crash at the British GP, he would also be one of only three drivers without a DNF to their name in 2022.

Thanks to podiums in Australia, Spain, Azerbaijan, and France, Russell finds himself 16 points clear of his teammate in the standings. Since Hamilton has won seven World Championships over the years, Russell can be proud of his efforts.

Following a series of standout displays, Russell is among my best bets for the 2022 Hungarian Grand Prix.

Best Bets for the F1 Hungarian GP (2022)

  • Max Verstappen (+110)
  • Charles Leclerc (+175)
  • Lewis Hamilton (+1000)
  • George Russell (+2200)

You shouldn’t be surprised to see Verstappen (+110) and Leclerc (+175) among my best bets for the Hungarian GP. Verstappen has been the best driver by some distance this year, while Leclerc has been his nearest challenger.

With Sainz and Perez priced at +750 and +1600, respectively, Hamilton (+1000) and Russell (+2200) offer far greater value here.

Hamilton secured three consecutive P3 finishes before snatching P2 last weekend. As for Russell, he has achieved four podiums across the past ten races. Better still, he has 11 top-five finishes under his belt this season. I can see the Mercedes duo enjoying more success this weekend.

F1 Hungarian Grand Prix Prediction for 2022

I backed Leclerc to win the French GP last weekend. The Ferrari driver was on course to claim his fourth victory of the season, but another calamitous mistake cost him the race win.

As I already mentioned, Leclerc has made several high-profile errors this year. For that reason, I’m steering clear of the Monegasque for the foreseeable future.

My 2022 Hungarian Grand Prix pick is Max Verstappen (+110). Head over to the Betway to place your bets.Bet on F1 Racing at Betway

Verstappen claimed his third victory in five races last time out, reminding everyone of his blistering pace. Having also won six of the previous nine races, the Red Bull man looks like a safe bet for the Hungarian GP.

We may be more than 50% of the way through the 2022 Formula One season, but some of the best F1 races to bet on are still to come. Be sure to study the 2022 Formula 1 schedule to scope out more betting opportunities down the line.
