The 2022 Europa League odds have shifted dramatically following Barcelona’s exit from the competition. Everything has changed with Barca, Lyon, Atalanta, and Braga falling in the quarter-finals.

The UEFA Europa League semi-finals comprise two German clubs and two British sides. RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt fly the flag for Germany, with West Ham United and Rangers completing the line-up.

Before we go any further, let’s check out the fixtures and odds for the Europa League semi-finals, courtesy of the best UEFA Europa League betting sites.

  • West Ham United (-120) vs. Eintracht Frankfurt (+335)
  • RB Leipzig (-250) vs. Rangers (+750)

Today, I will be breaking down the latest Europa League winner odds before examining all four contenders. I will then provide my semi-final Europa League picks and predictions for the remainder of the tournament.

Ready? Let’s go!

Latest 2022 UEFA Europa League Odds

RB Leipzig+120
West Ham United+200
Eintracht Frankfurt+500

The latest Europa League odds at Bovada indicate that RB Leipzig (+120) is the current Europa League betting favorite.

Since the arrival of head coach Domenico Tedesco in December, Leipzig has suffered just two defeats in 24 games across all competitions. That tells you everything you need to know about the team’s newfound toughness.

According to Bovada, West Ham United (+200) is viewed as Leipzig’s main challenger. Having already knocked out heavyweights like Sevilla and Lyon, the Hammers will fancy their chances of lifting the trophy.

Eintracht Frankfurt (+500) is the bookmakers’ third favorite, despite having dispatched Barcelona in the quarter-finals. Oliver Glasner’s men will be brimming with belief after overcoming Barca, but have they got what it takes to go all the way?

Although Rangers (+600) is the bookies’ outsiders, they will be confident of upsetting the Europa League odds. I mean, the Scottish side claimed a 6-4 aggregate victory over Borussia Dortmund earlier in the campaign!

As you can see, the UEFA Europa League betting odds are relatively tight. With all four teams priced between +120 and +600, we need to look at every side before laying down our predictions for the Europa League semi-finals.

RB Leipzig (+120)

It was always going to be difficult for Leipzig to adjust to life without Julian Nagelsmann. Between 2019 and 2021, the highly-rated manager revolutionized the Saxony outfit before leaving for Bayern Munich at the end of last season.

The Red Bulls made a below-par start to the current campaign, leading to the sacking of Nagelsmann’s successor, Jesse Marsch. But the mid-season managerial switch has proved to be a blessing in disguise.

As I already mentioned, Leipzig has registered only two losses in 24 outings since Tedesco replaced Marsch in December. To say that Tedesco has transformed the team would be a massive understatement.

It is also worth noting that Tedesco’s boys are currently enjoying a 14-game unbeaten streak, having picked up ten wins and four draws since their last loss.

Of course, the entire team must be given credit for the turnaround. But there is no denying that Christopher Nkunku has been the star of the show this season.

With a whopping 30 goals and 19 assists to his name, Nkunku is one of the most in-form players in world soccer. Having bagged 17 goals and 13 assists in the Bundesliga, only four players have racked up more goal involvements across Europe’s top five leagues this term.

Player Club Goals Assists Goal Involvements
Kylian Mbappe Paris Saint-Germain 21 15 36
Karim Benzema Real Madrid 25 11 36
Robert Lewandowski Bayern Munich 32 2 34
Mohamed Salah Liverpool 20 11 31
Christopher Nkunku RB Leipzig 17 13 30

Since Andre Silva (15 goals, 8 assists) and Dominik Szoboszlai (10 goals, 8 assists) have also notched 18+ goal involvements this season, Leipzig boasts the deadliest attack in the Europa League.

Better still, the Reds Bulls have a favorable semi-final clash against the Rangers to look forward to. Although the Rangers are no pushovers; they are arguably the weakest team in the competition.

West Ham United (+200)

Less than two years ago, West Ham was on the brink of relegation from the English Premier League. Fast-forward to today – the Hammers are Europa League semi-finalists.

After finishing only five points above the relegation zone in the EPL back in 2020, the Londoners registered a remarkable sixth-place finish in 2021. As it stands, they find themselves seventh in England’s top tier.

Pretty impressive, huh?

This season, the Hammers have taken the Europa League by storm, losing just two of their ten games. After finishing three points clear atop Group H, they saw off Sevilla (2-1) in the round of 16 before dispatching Lyon (4-1) in the quarter-finals.

Let’s not forget that Sevilla topped the bookies’ 2022 Europa League odds after winning the tournament four times in seven years between 2014 and 2020.

David Moyes’ squad is not stacked with big-name stars. In fact, the 58-year-old is widely regarded as one of the best soccer managers on the planet for his ability to get the most out of his players. That’s what makes West Ham so special.

Granted, Declan Rice is destined to join an elite club before too long. But players such as Tomas Soucek, Jarrod Bowen, and Michail Antonio make the Hammers a frightening force thanks to their relentless work rate and unrivalled desire.

It is no surprise that West Ham is one of the most popular Europa League picks this year.

Eintracht Frankfurt (+500)

Before the quarter-finals, Barcelona was the UEFA Europa League betting favorite at +175. Meanwhile, Eintracht Frankfurt was among the outsiders at +1600. Needless to say, the German side made a mockery of the Europa League odds.

Eintracht held the Spanish giant to a 1-1 draw in Frankfurt, despite seeing 33% possession. Ansgar Knauff gave Eintracht the lead after the break before Ferran Torres equalized midway through the second half.

A Filip Kostic brace helped Eintracht claim a famous 3-2 victory at Camp Nou in the second leg. The Eagles saw just 25% of the ball in Catalonia but managed to book their spot in the last four.

It would be unfair to say that Oliver Glasner’s men are enduring a disappointing Bundesliga campaign. Having won only ten of their 30 domestic games, they are tenth in the German top flight. That means they are closer to the relegation zone than the top four.

In the Europa League, however, the Eagles are soaring. They have yet to taste defeat in the tournament, registering five wins and five draws on their way to the semi-finals.

Frankfurt also reached the Europa League semi-finals in 2019 but fell to Chelsea’s EPL powerhouse. Can they go one better this time around?

Rangers (+600)

Rangers are enjoying something of a fairytale Europa League story. At the beginning of the season, the Scots were priced at +5000 to lift the trophy. Now, they are priced at just +600.

The Gers kicked off their campaign by finishing second in Group A. Thanks to wins over Brondby and Sparta Prague and an impressive draw against Lyon, they snatched second place to set up a mammoth clash against Borussia Dortmund.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s boys upset the Europa League odds in style, crushing Dortmund 6-4 on aggregate. Following a memorable 4-2 victory in Germany, Rangers held BVB to a 2-2 draw in Scotland.

The Teddy Bears have since dispatched Red Star Belgrade (4-2) and Braga (3-2) to punch their ticket to the semi-finals.

Naturally, every team gets an edge on home soil. But few would argue that Ibrox Stadium is not among the most intimidating and hostile away trips in world soccer. There is a sense that Rangers can give anyone a run for their money with 50,000 raucous Glaswegians behind them.

James Tavernier has been immense in the Europa League this season, bagging six goals and two assists. Not only is he the joint-top scorer in the competition, but he also finds himself atop the goal involvements leaderboard.

Believe it or not, Tavernier has chalked up 14 goals and 16 assists across all competitions this term. Oh, and did I mention that he is a right-back?

Since Celtic holds a six-point lead in the Scottish Premiership, Rangers look set to put all their eggs in the Europa League basket. They will be just one win away from securing the silverware if they can make it past RB Leipzig.

2022 Semi-Final Europa League Picks

Are you ready for my 2022 Europa League picks? Now that we’ve familiarized ourselves with the remaining teams, it’s time to make some predictions for the Europa League semi-finals.

First, I’m backing West Ham to overcome Eintracht Frankfurt. Although the Eagles got the better of Barcelona in the previous round, I can see their Europa League journey coming to an end in the semi-finals.

The Hammers proved they were Europa League contenders by knocking out Sevilla in the round of 16. A few weeks later, they cemented their status among the favorites by crushing Lyon 4-1 on aggregate. That’s why I’m confident that West Ham will reach the final.

  • West Ham United vs. Eintracht Frankfurt Pick: West Ham United to Qualify

I expect RB Leipzig to come out on top in the other semi-final. That said, I think this clash will be closer than the Europa League betting odds suggest.

This season, the Rangers have claimed several notable scalps, with victories coming against Borussia Dortmund, Red Star Belgrade, and Braga. This proves that they won’t go down without a fight.

Even so, the German outfit should be too strong for the Gers. The Red Bulls have taken their game to another level under Tedesco, so I can see them edging out Rangers – regardless of the Teddy Bears’ strength on home soil.

My Europa League Prediction for 2022

My Pick: West Ham (+200)Bet on West Ham at Betway

So, I’m backing West Ham and RB Leipzig to reach the final. But who will lift the trophy in Seville on May 18? Here is my 2022 Europa League prediction.

There is no hiding the fact that Leipzig is enjoying a phenomenal unbeaten run at the moment. But all good things must come to an end, right?

The chances of Leipzig remaining unbeaten for the rest of the season are slim. The Red Bulls are one of six teams competing for the final two Champions League spots in the Bundesliga, meaning they have to go all out in both competitions.

On the flip side
West Ham’s top-four hopes in the Premier League have all but vanished. That means they can focus all their energy on winning the Europa League.

Having followed the Hammers closely this season, I’m confident they can win the Europa League. Following triumphs over Sevilla and Lyon, there is no reason why they can’t get past Frankfurt and lift the trophy.

On top of that, West Ham (+200) offers greater betting value than RB Leipzig (+120). Both sides are capable of going all the way, so why not back the team with the juicier odds?
