Tottenham Will Push Man City and Liverpool All the Way

We all know that Manchester City has commanded English soccer in recent years. Pep Guardiola’s men have won four of the previous five EPL titles, asserting their dominance over the league.

Liverpool is the only club that prevented Man City from lifting the trophy in the past five seasons. In addition to securing the silverware in 2019-20, the Reds finished a solitary point behind City in 2018-19 and 2021-22.

Ahead of the 2022-23 campaign, all the best sports betting sites expect Man City and Liverpool to compete in a league of their own once again. But I can see Tottenham pushing the frontrunners all the way.

When Antonio Conte replaced Nuno Espirito Santo back in November, Spurs found themselves in ninth place. But the new manager turned things around in style, picking up 17 wins in 28 games to secure Champions League soccer.

Let’s not forget that Conte won three consecutive Serie A titles with Juventus before guiding Chelsea to the EPL title in 2016-17. The Italian clearly knows a thing or two about winning trophies.

Tottenham’s squad is stacked, too. Harry Kane and Son Heung-min are among the best forwards on the planet – and the recent signings of Richarlison, Yves Bissouma, and Ivan Perisic will only strengthen the team.

According to the 2022-23 EPL title odds, Man City and Liverpool are a cut above the rest. But I’m confident that Spurs can give the title favorites a run for their money.

Early Title Odds and Analysis for the 2022-23 EPL Season

It seems like only yesterday that Manchester City secured that comeback victory over Aston Villa to pip Liverpool to the 2021-22 Premier League title. However, the new season is already on the horizon. Due to the winter World Cup, the 2022-23 Premier League...

Everton Suffers Relegation for the First Time Since 1951

The next of my bold 2022 EPL predictions concerns Everton. Look away now, Toffees fans!

Everton holds the record for the most seasons played in the top flight of English soccer. Since the creation of the Football League in 1888 (yes, 1888!), the Merseyside outfit has only spent four seasons outside the top tier.

Although the Toffees haven’t won the top-flight title since 1987, they rarely find themselves in relegation trouble. But they could struggle to beat the drop next season if the previous campaign is anything to go by.

Team Odds
Bournemouth -108
Nottingham Forest +110
Fulham +130
Leeds United +200
Brentford +230
Southampton +300
Everton +400

As per the EPL relegation odds at BetOnline, six teams are favored ahead of Everton. Naturally, the newly-promoted clubs are expected to go straight back down. But you’re here for my bold Premier League predictions, aren’t you?

The Toffees won just 11 of their 38 games last season, registering six draws and 21 losses in the process. Only the bottom two sides suffered more defeats, while only three teams recorded fewer draws.

Worse still, Frank Lampard’s men suffered a humiliating 4-0 loss to MLS side Minnesota United in a recent pre-season friendly. With all due respect to Minnesota, Everton will face far greater tests throughout the 2022-23 EPL campaign.

Harry Kane Wins the Golden Boot

Since Harry Kane already has three Golden Boots to his name, you might wonder why he features in my bold EPL predictions for 2022-23. I mean, backing Kane to win the Golden Boot isn’t exactly bold, is it?

Well, given that Kane is set to compete against goal-machines like Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah, the Spurs striker is by no means guaranteed to win the Golden Boot.

Haaland netted 85 goals in 88 games for Borussia Dortmund before joining Man City in June. Now, the super-prolific marksman plays for one of the best teams on the planet – under one of the best managers in the game.

As for Salah, he has claimed the Golden Boot in three of the past five seasons. The Egyptian has bagged 118 EPL goals since joining Liverpool in 2017, meaning he averages 23.6 goals per season for the Reds.

That said, Kane knows what it takes to outscore his rivals. The Tottenham talisman won back-to-back Golden Boots in 2015-16 and 2016-17 before scooping the award for the third time in 2020-21.

As I already mentioned, the Spurs look set to ramp up the pressure on Man City and Liverpool next season. If Tottenham keeps paces with the frontrunners, Kane will be there or thereabouts in the race for the Golden Boot.

Feel free to check out my 2022-23 Premier League Golden Boot betting preview with odds, analysis, and predictions.

Odds and Prediction for the 2022-23 Premier League Golden Boot

If the 2022-23 Premier League Golden Boot odds don’t get you excited for the new season, I don’t know what will. Of course, Mohamed Salah, Harry Kane, and all the other usual suspects are there. But with high-profile newcomers such as Erling...

Harvey Elliott Wins PFA Young Player of the Year

Harvey Elliott

Believe it or not, Harvey Elliott only turned 19 in April. Does that make you feel old?

In 2018, Elliott made his professional debut for Fulham when he was just 15. A few months later, he became the youngest player in Premier League history – making his EPL debut at the age of 16 years and 30 days.

The homegrown prodigy joined Liverpool in 2019 and has since established himself as one of England’s brightest young stars. Still, I’m backing Elliot to take his game to another level in 2022-23.

Player Odds
Erling Haaland +250
Bukayo Saka +300
Gabriel Martinelli +500
Michael Olise +800
Jacob Ramsey +900
Harvey Elliott +1300

As you can see, Elliott is the bookies’ sixth favorite to be named the 2022-23 PFA Young Player of the Year. Haaland is the frontrunner, with the Arsenal duo of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli expected to challenge.

However, I’m backing Elliott to scoop the prize. After showing glimpses of a real promise last season, the Liverpool winger looks destined to enjoy a breakout campaign.

This might be one of my boldest 2022 EPL predictions, but I wouldn’t be shocked if it came to fruition. Elliott already has 65 first-team appearances under his belt – and he should rack up many more during the upcoming season.

Nottingham Forest Finishes in the Top Half

Nottingham Forest is back in the Premier League following a 23-year absence. Can the two-time European Cup winners re-establish themselves as top-flight regulars once again?

I think they can.

Last season, the Trickey Trees made their worst start to the campaign for 108 years – picking up a solitary point from their first seven games. When Chris Hughton was sacked in September, many believed that Forest was destined for relegation to the third tier.

But Steve Cooper had other ideas. The highly-rated Welsh manager steered the club clear of relegation danger and into the Championship play-offs. The rest, as they say, is history.

Cooper has wasted no time strengthening his squad for the campaign ahead, bringing in a host of new signings. Most notably, Jesse Lingard and Dean Henderson have arrived from Manchester United.

The club has also signed Neco Williams from Liverpool, Taiwo Awoniyi from Union Berlin, Omar Richards from Bayern Munich, and Mousa Niakhate from Mainz. It goes without saying that Forest is NOT messing around.

In 2019-20, newly-promoted Sheffield United finished ninth in the Premier League. With Cooper at the helm – and plenty of top players through the door – I can see Forest emulating Sheff Utd’s comeback campaign.

Right now, Betway offers odds of +650 for Forest to secure a top-half finish next season. I recommend jumping on that price before it goes down.

Jesse Marsch Will Be the First Manager to Get Sacked

Jesse Marsch

Of course, my 2022-23 Premier League predictions would not be complete without a look at the managerial sack race.

The bookmakers believe Ralph Hasenhuttl will be the first managerial casualty next season. The Southampton boss has been walking on thin ice for what feels like forever, so it is difficult to argue with the bookies’ viewpoint.

Everton’s Frank Lampard, Fulham’s Marco Silva, and Leicester City’s Brendan Rodgers are also among the sack race favorites. In my eyes, though, Jesse Marsch is in real danger of losing his job before anyone else in 2022-23.

Last season, Marsch replaced Marcelo Bielsa as Leeds United’s manager with 12 games remaining. Despite winning just four of those 12 games, the American managed to save the club from relegation on the campaign’s final day.

Although Marsch has been in charge of Leeds for less than six months, I wouldn’t be surprised if he becomes the first EPL manager to get fired in 2022-23. After all, Leeds looks set to endure another testing season.

I have already taken an in-depth look at the Premier League sack race odds and shared my predictions for the upcoming campaign. Follow the link below to find out more.

Predicting the First EPL Manager Fired in 2022-23

Which Premier League manager will get sacked first next season? This question invariably pops up before the beginning of every EPL campaign. We all know England’s top-flight soccer league is stacked with world-class players but it is also full of...

Brentford Finishes Bottom of the Table

How many times have we seen a newly-promoted team enjoy a successful campaign in the EPL before suffering from a serious case of “second-season syndrome” the following year?

I don’t know the exact answer to that question, but I can think of many examples.

Let’s take Sheff United, for instance. As I already mentioned, the Blades secured an impressive ninth-place finish in their comeback campaign. The following season, however, they finished rock bottom after winning just seven of their 38 games.

After gaining promotion in 2021, Brentford registered a hugely respectable thirteenth-place finish last season. The Bees claimed 13 wins in 2021-22, with notable victories coming against Arsenal and Chelsea.

Still, I expect Thomas Frank’s boys to struggle in 2022-23 – so much so that I’m backing them to finish bottom of the table.

Christian Eriksen played a key role in Brentford’s survival bid last term, racking up five goal contributions in 11 games. Following Eriksen’s move to Man Utd, the Bees look short on creativity and could struggle to stay afloat next season.

At 10Bet, you can get odds of +900 for Brentford to finish bottom in 2022-23. In my opinion, that price is extremely generous.

Jadon Sancho Wins Playmaker of the Season

The last of my bold Premier League predictions relate to the Playmaker of the Season. This award is given to the player who registers the most assists.

As you would expect, Kevin De Bruyne (+450) and Trent Alexander-Arnold (+700) are the bookies’ favorites to scoop the prize. Son Heung-min (+1000), Bruno Fernandes (+1400), Harry Kane (+1400), Mohamed Salah (+1600), and Erling Haaland (+1800) are in the mix, too.

Next up, Andrew Robertson (+2000), Christian Eriksen (+2000), and Phil Foden (+2000) round out the top ten. So, where the hell is Jadon Sancho?

You may be surprised to learn that Sancho is priced at +2500 to notch the most assists next season. Granted, the winger endured a difficult debut campaign at Man Utd. But with Erik ten Hag at the helm, I expect him to flourish in 2022-23.

It is important to remember why United paid £73 million to acquire Sancho’s services. Indeed, the 22-year-old bagged 50 goals and 64 assists in 135 appearances for Borussia Dortmund.

For that reason, I’m backing Sancho to shine next season. This might be one of my craziest 2022-23 Premier League predictions, but the Man Utd winger has the potential to upset the odds.
